Riverbend RV Campground Introduce
For those of us in Louisiana seeking a convenient place to park our RVs, whether for a short stopover or a longer stay for work or school, Riverbend RV Campground in Winnfield offers a quiet and accessible option. Situated in a more rural part of our state, this campground caters primarily to RV travelers, providing essential hookups for a comfortable stay. It’s the kind of place that appeals to individuals looking for a low-key environment while working in the area or attending local institutions.
While the provided reviews highlight some significant concerns regarding customer service and park maintenance, it's important to approach any accommodation with a clear understanding of what it offers. Riverbend RV Campground has been described as a "nice quiet park" by some who have stayed for extended periods. Its primary value proposition appears to be its utility as a practical base for RVers in Winnfield. As locals, we understand that sometimes the most practical option is what's needed, especially for those on assignment or involved in long-term projects in a town like Winnfield.
Riverbend RV Campground is located at
113 River Bend Trailer Park Rd, Winnfield, LA 71483, USA. This address places it conveniently close to Winnfield, a town in north-central Louisiana. Winnfield is situated at the intersection of US Highway 84 and US Highway 167, making it a relatively accessible hub within the region. The campground’s address, "113 River Bend Trailer Park Rd," suggests it’s likely just off a main thoroughfare, providing straightforward access for RVs. One older review from 2010 noted it's "Located on US-84 about two miles east of Winnfield, LA." This means it's easy to find for those traveling through the area. As an RV campground, its location would typically allow for easy maneuvering of larger vehicles, though specific details on site layout or turn radii are not provided. Given its rural setting, reaching the campground should be a simple drive from Winnfield itself, or from either US-84 or US-167 for those coming from further afield in Louisiana.
Based on available public data and reviews, Riverbend RV Campground appears to focus on providing essential services for RVers, particularly those seeking longer-term stays.
- RV Sites with Hookups: The primary service offered is RV campsites, with full hookups being a key feature. Some reviews indicate that sites offer both 50 amp and 30 amp electric service, along with water and sewer connections. However, one review from March 2025 noted that the 30 amp service on their site was not working, requiring a converter for 50 amp usage.
- Long-Term Stays: The campground seems particularly suited for extended stays, with reviews mentioning individuals staying for "1 month" for work or "8 months while attending school at the local college." This suggests they cater to a clientele needing more than just overnight parking. Monthly rates have been reported around $395.
- Pet-Friendly: According to AAA, Riverbend RV Park is pet friendly, though it advises calling for any specific restrictions or fees.
- Limited Amenities: One review explicitly states, "No amenities such as a bath house or laundry." This indicates a minimalist approach, where the focus is on providing a parking spot with hookups rather than a full-service resort experience.
- Basic Connectivity (Unconfirmed): While some older reviews on third-party sites mention Wi-Fi and cable at "most of the spots," a more recent review from July 2021 stated, "No wi fi, or cable but plenty of tv stations." This suggests that Wi-Fi and cable access may be unreliable or no longer consistently available.
- Quiet Environment: Multiple reviews describe the park as "nice quiet place" or "Very quiet." This suggests a peaceful atmosphere for residents.
- Self-Pay/Owner Interaction: The method of payment and interaction with ownership seems to be direct, as indicated by the detailed customer service complaints provided.
It is important for potential visitors to verify the current availability and functionality of all desired services by contacting the campground directly before arrival, especially in light of the mixed reviews regarding amenities and maintenance.
The "features" of Riverbend RV Campground are centered around its practical utility and quiet setting, rather than extensive recreational offerings.
- Quiet and Peaceful Environment: This is a consistent highlight. Campers appreciate the "nice quiet park" atmosphere, which is ideal for those seeking a tranquil place to rest after work or study.
- Shaded Sites: At least some sites offer "lots of trees for shade," which is a valuable feature in Louisiana's often hot climate, providing natural cooling and comfort.
- Concrete Slabs: Some sites are described as having "concrete slab and runners to park on," which helps in leveling RVs and provides a clean, stable surface, a desirable feature for many RVers.
- Full Hookups: The availability of full hookups (electric, water, sewer) is a key feature for RVers, allowing for self-contained living without needing to frequently move for services.
- Convenient for Local Work/Study: Its location in Winnfield makes it a practical choice for individuals working on temporary projects or attending local educational institutions who need a longer-term RV base.
- Older Park Charm (and disrepair): Some reviews hint that the park "has seen much better days" and is "in severe disrepair," while older reviews described it as "very quaint." This suggests a mature park environment which, while potentially showing its age, might also offer a more established, tree-lined setting compared to newer, more barren parks.
However, it is crucial to address the significant negative feedback provided by real customers. Complaints include:
- Rude Customer Service: One reviewer recounted a highly negative experience where the owner "suddenly & rudely asked if I was strung out on drugs" and then "scolded me the entire time I struggled to turn my camper around." This indicates a potential issue with initial interactions.
- Maintenance Issues and Unwillingness to Compensate: Another long-term resident reported that the "yard man cut my water hose and sewer line in multiple spots," and the owner "gave me nothing but trouble and refused to replace all of my damaged hoses." This points to significant problems with maintenance accountability and customer resolution.
These serious concerns about customer service and maintenance directly impact the overall experience and should be carefully considered by anyone planning a stay.

Given the mixed customer feedback, it is highly recommended to call ahead to discuss your specific needs, clarify current rates, and perhaps gauge the nature of the interaction. Having a clear understanding of their policies, especially for long-term stays, and any potential maintenance procedures, would be beneficial.
For us Louisianans, particularly those who find themselves needing an RV base in the Winnfield area for work, school, or a quiet extended stay, Riverbend RV Campground presents a practical option. We often prioritize convenience and affordability when seeking temporary accommodation, and a park offering full hookups in a quiet setting certainly meets those basic needs. Its suitability for "long-term campers" who might be working on local projects or attending nearby colleges is a significant draw, providing a stable and relatively peaceful home-away-from-home.
However, as locals, we also value good old-fashioned Southern hospitality and fair treatment. The serious concerns raised in the provided customer reviews regarding rude initial interactions and unresolved damage claims are significant. In our communities, word travels quickly, and such experiences can heavily influence a business's reputation. While the "nice quiet park" aspect is appealing, the issues of customer service and maintenance cannot be overlooked.
Therefore, while Riverbend RV Campground offers the fundamental services of an RV park in Winnfield, its suitability for locals comes with a strong caveat. It might be a functional choice for those willing to manage potential interpersonal challenges and maintenance issues. For those prioritizing a truly hassle-free and welcoming experience, especially for extended periods, it would be prudent to approach with caution, communicate clearly upfront, and consider these reported experiences as part of your decision-making process. For an overnight or very short stay, the potential for issues might be less impactful. Ultimately, it caters to a specific need for an RV spot in Winnfield, but visitors should manage their expectations regarding service quality.

Riverbend RV Campground Reviews
Was trying to park my camper for 1 month bc I was working in town & when I was paying for the spot the man suddenly & rudely asked if I was strung out on drugs... I politely said no & tried to laugh it off thinking he was joking but he just stared at me & said nothing. So after realizing he wasn't joking I said "I guess we can take our business elsewhere" he immediately said "I think that's a good idea" then he scolded me the entire time I struggled to turn my camper around. So if you want to be accused of being a drug addict by a complete & total stranger this is the campground for you.
Apr 10, 2018 · Derek CurrieStayed here for 8 months while attending school at the local college. Nice quiet place but terrible service. The yard man was weed eating around my camper and cut my water hose and sewer line in multiple spots, after talking to the owner he gave me nothing but trouble and refused to replace all of my damaged hoses. Needles to say I won’t be back
Apr 09, 2019 · Tanner LachneyThe folks here have been nothing but nice to us. The park is small but the prices are fair. These are Christian folks so the party thing isn't welcome but it's a safe place and peaceful. We're glad we found it! Will stay again.
