Ridges At Royal Blue is strategically situated at 6949 Stinking Creek Rd, Pioneer, TN 37847, USA. This location is particularly advantageous for off-road enthusiasts as it places the campground in immediate proximity to the renowned Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area (WMA), providing direct access to its extensive network of trails. For Tennessee residents, this means a relatively straightforward drive to reach a prime off-roading destination, minimizing travel time and maximizing recreational hours.
Accessing the campground, however, requires careful navigation. The entrance drive into the park is noted as being very steep and is primarily accessible only when approaching from the west. Similarly, the exit drive is also described as very steep. Visitors, especially those towing large rigs and trailers, should be prepared for these challenging inclines. Some customer feedback indicates that larger vehicles might experience difficulty exiting, sometimes requiring a burst of acceleration which can displace gravel. Despite these steep grades, the proximity to the trails remains a significant draw for those looking to immerse themselves in the Royal Blue riding experience without extended travel. Potential visitors are advised to plan their approach and departure accordingly, keeping these elevation changes in mind for a smoother arrival and departure.
- Spacious Campsites: Ridges At Royal Blue offers large campsites designed to accommodate a variety of rigs, vehicles, and other recreational toys. These generous sites provide ample gravel area for parking, ensuring plenty of space for your camper, truck, and ATVs or UTVs. The size of the sites allows for comfortable maneuvering and setup, even for larger setups.
- Full Hookups: The campground provides easy and convenient hookups for utilities. While specific details on the types of hookups (e.g., electric, water, sewer) are not detailed in the provided information, the mention of "easy hookups" suggests standard provisions for RVs and trailers.
- Direct Trail Access: A major highlight and key service is the immediate entrance to the extensive Royal Blue ATV trails located very close to the campground. This direct access allows riders to transition seamlessly from their campsite to the vast network of off-road trails, eliminating the need to transport vehicles to a separate trailhead.
- Organized Events: The campground occasionally hosts events for its visitors, adding a social and communal element to the stay. Customer reviews mention enjoying these events, indicating an effort to foster a friendly atmosphere among guests.
- Basic Facilities: While the campground does not boast extensive amenities such as a pool, Wi-Fi, or a dedicated dog park, it provides fundamental camping necessities. There are bathhouses available, though some visitors note that direct paths to them from all sites might be lacking, leading to people walking across sites.
- Direct Trail Connectivity: The most significant feature of Ridges At Royal Blue is its exceptional proximity and direct access to the Royal Blue ATV trail system. This allows riders to start their off-road adventures moments after leaving their campsite, making it incredibly convenient for those whose primary goal is riding.
- Large, Well-Spaced Sites: The campsites are notably spacious, providing ample room for large rigs, vehicles, and all accompanying off-road equipment. The generous spacing between sites offers a degree of privacy and comfort, allowing campers to spread out and enjoy their personal space.
- Gravel Parking Areas: Each site features a substantial gravel area for parking, which is ideal for rigs and off-road vehicles, providing a stable and durable surface.
- Ground-Level Solar Lights: Sites are equipped with ground-level solar lights set into the edging. These "soft lights" contribute to a pleasant nighttime ambiance around the campsites, enhancing visibility without being overly bright.
- Organized and Clean Park: Despite some operational aspects noted in reviews, the park is generally described as clean and very well organized, contributing to a positive first impression and overall camping experience for many visitors.
- Friendly Atmosphere: Customer feedback highlights the friendly and sweet demeanor of the staff and other campers, contributing to a welcoming and pleasant environment.

For Tennessee locals seeking an authentic and unfettered off-road camping experience, Ridges At Royal Blue offers a compelling proposition. Its primary suitability stems from its strategic location, providing direct and immediate access to the vast and highly sought-after Royal Blue ATV trail system. For residents across the state, this means less time spent trailering your vehicles and more time on the trails, maximizing your precious recreational hours. The convenience of being able to literally ride out from your campsite onto hundreds of miles of diverse terrain is an undeniable draw for the serious off-road enthusiast.
While Ridges At Royal Blue focuses on providing essential services rather than extensive resort-style amenities, this can be a distinct advantage for locals who prioritize function and direct trail access above all else. The large, well-spaced gravel sites are perfectly designed for accommodating the significant rigs, vehicles, and "toys" that off-roaders typically bring, ensuring a comfortable and practical base camp. The soft solar lighting at each site adds a thoughtful touch of comfort and ambiance, enhancing the evening experience after a day of rigorous riding.
It's important for local users to note the specifics of the park, such as the steep entrance and exit drives, and plan accordingly. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere, highlighted by reviews, ensures that local visitors feel right at home, fostering a sense of community among fellow riders.

Ridges At Royal Blue Reviews
Amazing! The park is clean and very well organized. Great easy hookups. Entrance to trails closed by. We absolutely loved our time there and enjoyed their events. Everyone was so friendly and sweet.Tip for parent with children with small four wheelers like 90s to 180s if you are looking for beginners trails - might want to stay at eagle rock because they have access to the three easier trail system. Trails 1,2,3. Trail 13 is easy too for those types of bikes.
Nov 10, 2023 · FL Home Design ExpressThe cost per night average to $81. There are no discounts available. This is just a campground with no amenities such as pool, WIFI, dog park and etc.The entrance drive into the park is very steep and can only be access coming from the west. The exit drive is also very steep. Both the entrance and exit have large potholes. We saw many trucks and trailers have a hard time exiting the drive. They had to hit the gas which resulted in gravel going everywhere.Everyone cuts through the sites across from the bathrooms as there is no path to the bath house. You prepay for your site so you do not get your site number without calling them. There is no campground map so you just drive around the park to find your site.Due to no campground rules, dogs are not kept on leases and just walk around the park. The sites are large with a large gravel area to park your rig, vehicle, and all other toys. Plenty of space between sites. The sites have edging at ground level with ground lever solar lights on them. It is nice to have the soft lights at night. This is a campground for ATVs.There are signs up that cameras are in use. If they are up and in use, no one monitors them. Many of the ATVs do not follow the posted rule about the 5 MP speed limit and make gravel fly. Some staff do not observe any speed limits. A staff in a red car came driving into the park at a high rate of speed causing dust to fly everywhere. As there is no staff in the campground, no one is monitored to ensure that good camping etiquette is followed. It is a free for all! Many people not staying in the park drive through the park so make sure you lock up everything. There is no security.
May 06, 2023 · Caroline ShookWe love camping here! The folks are amazing and Stephanie and PJ in the office are the very best and could not be nicer or more helpful! These girls are on it! We can't wait for our next trip! Great access to trails and the campsites themselves are big and clean and most are easy to maneuver in. Also, we have made some great new riding buddies here! Highly recommended with our best rating. We love it here and you will too!
Oct 24, 2020 · Mark MilburnThis is a wonderful campground. The sites are large enough for a camper, side by sides, trail bikes and a truck. Our site backed up to a creek and had a porch swing set up to use. It was a great spot to sit and have coffee first thing in the garden. The restroom/bath house was always clean and was very spacious. They have a small table to use for dressing after showering. The staff were always helpful and truly want you to enjoy your stay.
Feb 04, 2020 · Angela StumpfThis is absolutely one of the best campgrounds around. It's always clean and the staff are super friendly. They always make you feel welcome. We have stayed several years in a row and will continue to go.
