Jun 28, 2025 · Debbie SanfordGreat little camp ground, mostly families, clean and quiet. Across from Trail of 100 Giants. Cute gift shop in front yurt. It has 6 tent sites for $34 cash only and 6 yurts sites for $106 cash if doing First Come First Serve. The yurts fit 5-6 people, bunk beds and a futon. Bring lights, blankets, and water. All sites have a fire pit and picnic table. Camp host on site. Firewood sold for $10 cash a bundle or card in the store. No electricity or running water, vault toilets. Generator up front that runs sometimes during the day to power gift shop. No bear boxes on site but bears do not frequent the area.Reservations can be made on Recreation.gov. You can also check FCFS availability there.**Notes on sites- site 8 is great for RVs and travel trailers, 9 is smaller but can fit a smaller trailer or RV. Site 7 is a walk down site, with small parking space. Not recommended for trailers or RVs. Site 5 also has a smaller space and will fit a van or smaller trailer but not recommended. Site 11 is a small tent site, one tent, and a couple of people recommended.
Jun 25, 2025 · Michell LambGet a yurt! They are fabulous and so easy to camp with. I bring my dog and just shut the door when going out on the trail of 100 giants with my trike! The camp hosts are especially delightful and helpful.
Jun 04, 2024 · Krystee COur family just got back from a weekend trip here. First and foremost, I would like to thank Darin, the camp host, for making our stay feel so welcomed! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and is willing to share that with his guests. We stayed in a yurt and it was very clean and spacious when we arrived. There were sheets provided, but we brought our own. Our campsite was so big and spacious, and located right behind us was a small creek and a beautiful meadow. We did extensive research before booking. Some essentials that we brought and we felt was necessary:-Mosquito net with canopy (bugs can get annoying, comes with nature of course) but it really helped with enjoying meals and cooking-Large gallons of water & portable shower (no running water on site)-Pump gas at Porterville before heading up mountains (no gas stations for an hour going towards campsite)
