Raccoon Mountain Caverns and Campground Reviews
The cavern tour was so much fun! Especially in the summer time. Our tour guide started us off by showing us a sign of all of the different wild life in the cavern and not even five minutes into the tour we saw a bat, crickets, and a few salamanders! The tour guide who I believe was also the manager was great and super patient with all of the kiddos asking questions and telling us all about the caves. The staff was also great at rescheduling due to last minute conflicts. Our whole family would recommend them and can't wait to come back.
Jun 26, 2025 · Chris SchweigerI went on the two-hour Canyon Crawl tour in the wild cave, it was a wonderful experience. It was physically demanding, but the staff was very patient and accommodating, making sure that we were comfortable and safe and could take our own pace. Our guides, Maria and Katie, were very professional and knowledgeable about the cavern. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a real caving experience.

The grounds are so beautiful and well kept, the showers are clean and hot and the staff is absolutely amazing! They also had a pet sitting area that was sooo helpful when I wanted to grab some food/supplies before check in.You can’t go wrong staying here and i can’t wait to get back for another stay!I did the gem panning and the cave crawl and it was so much fun! Timothy was a great guide! I did the walking tour the previous time I stayed and that was a lot of fun too!I desperately needed a mini vacation and raccoon mountain and their staff made it the best experience and time I could have had! Thank you all for the perfect campground experience!
May 30, 2025 · Kayla MonjiWe RV and had a wonderful spot, all pull through and really pull throughs. Grounds are well cared for, trash pickup twice a day, bark park, ice and fire wood, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and beautiful scenery. The cavern is in walking distance and was a great experience also, more rustic than Ruby falls and small groups which made the experience so much better. They also have some cabins and primitive campsites. The children seemed to love the area, we didn't have kids with us, plenty of space to ride bikes, a playground, pool, game area and all around secure area tucked in beside Raccoon mountain. They sit 15-20 minutes outside of Chattanooga where most attractions and restaurants are found.
Jun 05, 2025 · Melanie DixonFirst time taking a new RV 1983 Ford Honey, 24ft and don’t think I could’ve picked a better spot. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful views around you. Staff is extremely friendly, check in was easy, guided to spot and firewood delivered. Very sweet ladies at the office. Gravel roads well maintained and nice bathhouses/property. I especially enjoyed the Cave tours more, Michael our guide was amazing and one of the friendliest people. Very informative and knowledgeable, I learned so much about caves and even saw a few salamanders! Great experience overall, would love to come back.
