Being right at Exit 74 means that whether you're coming from Denver and Colorado Springs to the north, or Trinidad and New Mexico to the south, navigating to the campground is incredibly straightforward. This eliminates the hassle of winding through complex backroads, making it perfect for RVs of all sizes, trailers, and family vehicles. Despite its proximity to a major highway, a discerning "city boy" reviewer noted that "the road noise from I-25 was hardly noticeable," which speaks volumes about the campground's design or natural sound dampening.
The location also offers excellent access to nearby amenities. A "very nice Circle K, with gas and diesel is just 100 yards up the road," providing convenient fuel and last-minute supplies. While the campground carries "Pueblo South" in its name, it’s actually situated closer to the charming community of Colorado City, known for its small-town feel and access to the vast recreational opportunities of the surrounding San Isabel National Forest. This strategic placement makes it a perfect base for exploring the rich history and cultural attractions of Pueblo, enjoying outdoor activities in the Wet Mountains, or simply as a comfortable and accessible stop on a longer Colorado journey.

May 28, 2025 · Chris Gravescheck was easy, the hosts were very friendly, the pull-ins were easy enough because the streets were plenty wide. the bathroom was clean, well lit, and stocked with the usual. Shower had plenty of hot water. The laundry room was clean and bright with a folding table and plenty of machines. The camp store was more than adequately stocked. The campground was pretty full but was still quiet at night and the road noise from I-25 was hardly noticeable by a city boy. A very nice Circle K, with gas and diesel is just 100 yards up the road. There was plenty of stuff for kids butthe mini-golf and discuss golf areas could have used a cutting. I give it a five not because it was perfect but rather because there was nothing of note wrong. A word of caution, the bathrooms may or may not have heaters when it is cold.
Jun 09, 2025 · Curt CriderStayed here with our RV for one night. The owner, Rubens, was incredibly nice. We were looking for some sightseeing to do around the area, and he didn’t hesitate to sit down with us and make a proposal plan. Had great fun chatting with him.Furthermore the bathrooms were spacious and the showers were nice and hot. You can hear a little road noise from the I-25 nearby, although that didn’t bother us at all.If you’re in luck, you can see a lot of stars at night and a beautiful sunrise in the morning. All in all will definitely stay here again if we ever visit Colorado again!
Mar 18, 2025 · Roy GoorhuisWe unfortunately got stranded when our truck broke down 2 miles south of here. The awesome shop (The Service Center) that towed us back to town hooked us up with the KOA and towed our camper over while our truck was going through repairs. The owner is so friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him. We are so thankful for the friendly small town folks that helped us through a difficult time.
Jul 07, 2025 · Stacy RichkunAs with most KOAs, the convenience of being right off the highway results in a little bit of road noise. The sites are nice, most with grass that the owner is pretty particular about. We have supports for our awning to prevent it from being affected by the wind, but they are held down with large nails. The owner didn't want nails in his grass. He's sweet, but maybe a little OCD. This is a great place for people with dogs and children. There is plenty for them to do. My husband and I played mini golf twice. We have our own putters and balls, so we didn't need to wait until it got too warm to play. The restroom was clean, and so was the laundry room. At $7.00 a load, we opted not to use the facilities. We were able to capitalize on a special, which got our price down to $50.00 a night.
