Pueblo KOA Journey Introduce
For Colorado locals embarking on a road trip, exploring their own magnificent state, or simply needing a comfortable and convenient place to stay with their RV, Pueblo KOA Journey offers a reliable and welcoming option. Located in Pueblo, this campground is part of the well-known KOA network, ensuring a certain standard of amenities and service. It serves as an excellent base for exploring Southern Colorado's diverse attractions, from the vibrant city of Pueblo to the awe-inspiring natural wonders that lie nearby. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Pueblo KOA Journey, helping Coloradans understand what makes this campground a popular choice for travelers.
Pueblo KOA Journey is designed to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, whether you're passing through for a night or settling in for a longer adventure. Guests frequently praise the friendly staff, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the various conveniences offered. While its proximity to the highway means some road noise, the overall positive experience, marked by a welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful touches like fresh pizza delivery, often outweighs this. We'll delve into its strategic location, the array of services and amenities it provides, its key features and highlights, and essential contact information. By the end, you'll have a comprehensive understanding of why Pueblo KOA Journey is a favored stop for many Colorado RVers and campers.
Pueblo KOA Journey is strategically located at 4131 I-25 Exit 108, Pueblo, CO 81008, USA. Its direct proximity to Interstate 25, a major north-south artery through Colorado, makes it incredibly convenient for travelers. Pueblo, often referred to as "Steel City," offers its own set of attractions, including the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk, local museums, and annual events like the Colorado State Fair.
Accessibility to the campground, while excellent from I-25, does come with a notable consideration for larger rigs, particularly when approaching from the north. If coming from the south, guests typically find it straightforward. However, for those arriving from the north on I-25, Exit 108 has a tunnel that is 13'3" tall and approximately 10 feet wide. This can be a tight squeeze for some larger RVs. The campground advises calling them for an alternate route if this presents a challenge, and there is often an alternate route via Exit 110 (which has a 13'9'' clearance) with a subsequent turn. Despite this, the direct access to and from a major highway remains a significant advantage for most campers.
The park’s location makes it an ideal central base for exploring a wide range of popular Colorado attractions. Within a reasonable driving distance, campers can visit the breathtaking Royal Gorge Bridge, the stunning Garden of the Gods, the iconic Pikes Peak, and the charming town of Colorado Springs. This makes Pueblo KOA Journey not just a convenient stopover, but a strategic hub for experiencing the diverse beauty and adventures that Southern Colorado has to offer.
Full Hookup RV Sites: The campground offers a variety of RV sites, including spacious pull-through sites, many with full hookups (water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electric service). Sites can accommodate rigs up to 70-125 feet in length, ensuring ample room for most RVs and slide-outs.
Deluxe Patio Sites: For an enhanced experience, some RV sites feature a fenced area with a gas grill, a brick patio with a fire pit, a picnic table, and a sunshade, offering added privacy and comfort.
Tent Camping & Cabins: In addition to RV sites, Pueblo KOA Journey also offers tent sites (some with electric) and various cabin options (deluxe and camping cabins) for those without an RV.
Clean Restrooms and Showers: The park consistently receives high praise for its "sparkling clean" and "spotless" restrooms and showers, providing a comfortable and hygienic experience for all guests.
24/7 Laundry Room: A convenient, clean 24/7 laundry room with well-maintained machines is available, which is invaluable for travelers on longer journeys.
Free Wi-Fi and Cable TV: Guests can enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and cable TV at their sites, ensuring connectivity and entertainment.
On-Site Store and Food Service: The camp store is stocked with basic necessities. A unique service offered is fresh pizza and ice cream delivery directly to your campsite after 4 PM, perfect for a relaxing evening.
Escort to Site: The staff often provides an escort service to guide campers to their designated site upon arrival, a helpful touch especially for those with larger rigs or arriving after dark.
Pet-Friendly with Dog Park: The campground is very welcoming to pets, offering "plenty of room to play with the dogs" and featuring a large, fenced dog run (though it is noted to be 100% dirt, so messy pups are possible).
Seasonal Pool: A swimming pool is available seasonally, typically from May 15th to September 15th, offering a refreshing way to cool off during warmer months.
Friendly and Helpful Staff: A consistent highlight from customer reviews is the "super friendly" and "extremely nice" staff, often going out of their way to be "helpful" and accommodating, even in busy times.
Spacious and Roomy Sites: Guests frequently comment on the "nice and roomy" sites, with "plenty of room to play" and good spacing, allowing for a comfortable stay, especially for those with multiple slide-outs.
Convenient On-Site Food Options: The availability of fresh pizza and ice cream delivered directly to your site is a highly appreciated convenience, adding to the relaxed atmosphere.
Welcoming Atmosphere: The overall "feel" of the campground is described as "welcoming," creating an inviting environment for all visitors, whether stopping for a night or an extended stay.
Strategic Central Location: While being right off I-25 (with some road noise), its position makes it an excellent "base camp" for exploring a multitude of Southern Colorado attractions including Royal Gorge, Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak, and Bishop Castle.
Well-Maintained Grounds: The park is noted for being "neat and well kept," with "impeccably clean" grounds, contributing to a pleasant environment.
Kid-Friendly Amenities: Beyond the pool and dog park, the campground offers playgrounds and pedal kart rentals, providing activities to keep families and children entertained.

Pueblo KOA Journey Reviews
Pueblo has a great feel from the moment you arrive. The staff is super friendly. The store is stocked with the basics. They offer fresh pizza to be delivered to your site. They escort you to the site, which was nice and roomy. Plenty of room to play with the dogs and they have ice cream! There is a bit of road noise. The views are nice and the place feels welcoming. Wish we could have stayed another night!
Jul 01, 2025 · Jennifer BeckettI wish I could rate it higher. The staff is extremely nice. Our spot is amazing with a patio and a fire pit. Showers and restrooms are clean. It’s getting here that’s the issue. Coming from the south you have a 10’ wide tunnel that is 13’3” tall. Coming from the north you literally have a 180 degree turn. The highway is loud but it doesn’t bother me.
May 26, 2025 · Black DuckWe stayed here at this KOA one night on our way to our vacation destination that night we stayed at a tent site. And on our way back we stayed here again for the night which we stayed in the Cabin. We really loved this Koa it’s really nice the bathrooms are really spacious, the pool is really nice, the staff is really kind and helpful. We liked our cabin it had a microwave, fridge, and TV which was great. The only thing I didn’t like about the cabin was the A/C unit was in the corner away from the beds which was hard to cool us down especially in the hot summer days. But we loved it here and would definitely recommend to others.
Jun 22, 2025 · cristinaEntrance was difficult because it was narrow and UPS truck blocked the signage. Only two vehicle width.Tunnel getting to and from interstate is VERY narrow and about 11'3". There is supposedly another entrance but the frontage road we used closed at the entrance turnoff.Staff was pleasant, guides and clerks.Cabins looked nice from the outside. Special sites had tall wood fences for privacy. Tent camps had grills.Store wasn't very well stocked. No diet coke and salad wasn't available because lettuce froze.Pool and common area aren't open now. There are play areas.Dog park was decent but a long walk for people who can't walk well. Soil was clumped so finding poop was hard if you weren't watching closely. Big area was nice for dog to run or play catch. Poop stations were available throughout the park.
May 09, 2025 · Conant SowersOne of the nicer KOA’s we’ve been to lately and as far as the way they maintain and take care of the place. It really shows! It’s a KOA journey so not a lot of stuff for kids, but they do have a playground. They have four huge patio spots that are really nice and they have two lots with a 6 foot fenced in privacy yard. We stayed there for four nights and were very impressed with the park. Lots Closer to the highway Yes, there is some highway noise, but they really work hard to maintain this park. So many of the KOA we’ve been to lately They just put them in and put them out and don’t maintain their amenities. Side note we’ve been full time RV’ing for 4.5 yrs now so we’ve seen are share of RV parks both good and bad.
