Province Shore Campground by Modern America Campgrounds

We met Rachael yesterday and it was a hard choice between which two seasonal camping areas we wanted to reserve. The ONLY reason we did not chose Province is due to the location. The location would be perfect for a short stay over the weekend but without dependable cell phone reception and the dirt roads being rough on my car, ARE THE ONLY reasons why we chose the other location. We LOVED the lake beach, the staff, and the openness of moving our camping in and out of any of the available spots. If we were retired we would have chosen this location but we still have too many years before we can do that. - Victoria Perez

Province Shore Campground by Modern America Campgrounds Introduce

For New Hampshire residents seeking an authentic and serene camping experience, Province Shore Campground by Modern America Campgrounds in Effingham, NH, offers a compelling option. Nestled on the shores of the picturesque Province Lake, this campground provides a scenic backdrop for a relaxing getaway or a full season of outdoor enjoyment. While its location deep within the New Hampshire landscape might mean a few unpaved roads and less-than-perfect cell service – a trade-off many locals are happy to make for true tranquility – the beauty of the lake and the warmth of the staff truly shine.

Locals know that finding a perfect balance of natural beauty and convenience can be a challenge. Province Shore Campground delivers on the natural beauty, offering a beautiful lake beach, spacious sites, and the freedom to truly immerse yourself in the New Hampshire wilderness. The "openness of moving our camping in and out of any of the available spots" mentioned by a former visitor highlights a flexible approach that can be very appealing. The campground aims to combine nature's untouched beauty with the comforts of modern amenities, creating an unforgettable outdoor experience.

Imagine waking up to the gentle sounds of the lake, spending your days by the 400-foot private beach with its marked swim area, or taking your boat out from one of the available slips. Despite occasional challenges with communication or investment concerns noted in some reviews, the core appeal of Province Shore lies in its prime lakeside location and the potential for a truly peaceful and scenic stay. It's a place where families can build traditions, and individuals can find solace in the heart of New Hampshire's renowned Lakes Region.

Location and Accessibility

Province Shore Campground is ideally situated at 36 Remick Rd, Effingham, NH 03882, USA, placing it directly on Province Lake in the charming town of Effingham. This location puts it in the heart of New Hampshire's famous Lakes Region, offering easy access to water-based activities and the serene beauty that defines this part of the state.

While the campground provides a secluded and natural feel, its accessibility for New Hampshire residents is generally good. Effingham is located in Carroll County, and the campground is reachable via state routes that traverse the Lakes Region. From major population centers like Concord, NH, the drive is approximately 45 miles, and from Rochester, NH, it's about 25 miles. Even from Portland, ME (35 miles), or Boston, MA (90 miles), the campground is a manageable distance for a weekend trip or a longer vacation, making it a viable option for many New Englanders.

It's important for visitors to note, as some reviews suggest, that the roads leading to and within the campground might include some unpaved or "rough" sections. While this contributes to the rustic charm and helps maintain the tranquil atmosphere, it's something to be aware of, especially for those with low-clearance vehicles or large RVs. However, the reward of reaching the beautiful lake and expansive property often outweighs this minor inconvenience. Despite reports of limited cell phone reception in the immediate area, which can be a double-edged sword for those seeking to disconnect, it solidifies the campground's appeal as a true escape from urban connectivity.
