Posseground Introduce
For Ohio’s vibrant equestrian community and those who cherish outdoor adventures with their horses, Posseground in Batavia stands as a specialized and highly valued destination. More than just a traditional campground, Posseground is specifically designed to cater to horse enthusiasts, providing a dedicated space where riders can prepare themselves and their equine companions for explorations along the scenic trails surrounding East Fork Lake. This unique focus makes it an indispensable resource for local horse owners and riders looking for accessible and well-suited facilities for their passion.
Posseground is distinct from a typical public campground primarily because its amenities are tailored to the needs of horses and their riders. It serves as a staging area, a social hub, and a convenient access point to some of the most beautiful multi-use trails in Ohio. While it may not offer conventional camping spots for tents or RVs in the traditional sense of an overnight campground (as indicated by user reviews struggling to find booking information), its purpose is clear: to facilitate an unparalleled horseback riding experience in a truly remarkable natural setting. For Ohioans passionate about equestrian activities, Posseground offers a dedicated and functional base for their adventures.
Posseground is strategically located at 3866-3898 Greenbriar Rd, Batavia, OH 45103, USA. This address places it directly adjacent to the expansive East Fork Lake State Park, a jewel in Ohio’s park system. For residents across Ohio, particularly those in the southwestern region including Cincinnati and its surrounding areas, the accessibility is excellent. Batavia is well-connected via state routes and within reasonable driving distance from many major population centers, making it a convenient destination for a day trip or a longer equestrian excursion.
The proximity to East Fork Lake State Park is a significant advantage. This ensures immediate access to the park’s extensive trail system, which is well-known for accommodating equestrian use. The location on Greenbriar Road means visitors are directly at the trailhead, minimizing travel time between arrival and embarking on a ride. While the exact path to view the lake may involve an incline, as noted by a reviewer, the overall accessibility to the vast recreational opportunities of East Fork Lake makes Posseground a prime location. This ease of access for horses and trailers, combined with the natural beauty of the area, makes it a highly desirable spot for Ohio’s horse-riding community.
Based on user reviews and the specific nature of Posseground as an equestrian-focused area rather than a traditional overnight campground, the services offered are primarily geared towards facilitating horseback riding and trail access. It is important to note that information on booking "camp spots" is not readily available, suggesting its function is more as a day-use staging area for riders.

Posseground Reviews
I pass by here often. It's great for it's intended purpose. Places to tie your horses, feed them & hang out with fellow enthusiasts between rides on the trails around East Fork Lake. Also a paved path down to view the lake. However, if you're not in very good shape maybe skip the walk. It has an incline on the way back that may be too much for you. When people aren't gathered here for it's intended purpose I have seen what looks like drug deals going on in the parking lot. There is also a transient homeless population around that stretch of park around Greenbriar Rd. & I've heard first hand stories of them following women & kids on the trails. With anywhere you go just remember there is safety in numbers & be aware of your surroundings. Again it's a good place to go riding horses with a group of friends.
