Plumtree Campground and Retreat Reviews
My husband and I had an incredible camping trip/stay at Plumtree campground. The creek side camp sites are beautiful, relaxing, and peaceful. They had the cleanest and nicest bathrooms and showers of any campground we’ve ever been to. The staff there was very helpful from bringing us to our site and getting us firewood, to the complementary coffee on Saturday morning and helping us with directions. They even mailed back my husband’s hat that he accidentally left behind. 10/10 recommend this place!
Jun 23, 2025 · Genny GallagherSuch hospitality and cleanliness. My family tent camped for 3 nights and had another family join us. The campground was clean and tidy and the camp store had everything in case you forget something at home with pricing that would be the same (or less) than you would find in most stores. This was our first time camping as a family and are so glad we chose this campground. We were greeted by the grounds host and he gave our son some fish food to feed the trout. Everyone was so kind which just added to our stay. The bath house was spotless and warm when it was cold outside. We will definitely be back.
Apr 22, 2025 · Angela VieuxWe stayed at Plumtree this past weekend to attend a concert in Beech Mtn. We arrived around 845 Friday night and were greeted in the CampStore by Jenifer who then led us to our studio and made sure our access code worked and we had everything we needed. Our room was gorgeous and very clean. The bed and furniture were comfy. Jenifer and Jed gave us directions to get to the waterfall on site and it was an easy walk to it. Jenifer gave us dinner recommendations and the Town Tavern was delicious… Jed, Jenifer, and Jimmy were all so nice and you can tell they pour their hearts into the property. We loved it so much, we have already booked our next stay with them to bring our kiddos to explore!
Jun 16, 2025 · Caitlin GillespieVisited with family for the first time at this location for Memorial day weekend, and I'm so glad we did!The campground has an assortment of tent, RV, and cabin sites that include ample space, water faucet and electric box, picnic table, and fire ring per site. The grounds are amazing with several hiking trails and a beautiful stream and water feature similar to sliding rock with a waterfall splashing into a clear pool of water below! They have a pond for fishing, playground for the kids, and a pavilion where they brought a band for a couple hours of live music.A wonderful bathhouse with running water, hot water and multiple shower facilities were a great plus and kept wonderfully clean, and strong wifi included!Linville is a short drive away offering tons of hiking opportunities, waterfalls, etc.The owners Jed and Jennifer and the manager Jimmy were incredibly friendly and helpful in so many ways. We loved the free coffee in the campground store, and local pastries were delicious!I can't recommend this place enough and look forward to our next visit! Thank you for such a great weekend!
May 27, 2025 · Steve TiltonWhile we didn’t visit this beautiful campground to camp, we loved our visit enough to share. The campground host/owner Mark was so pleasant and generous. Great conversations to be had with him, he’s so friendly. The bathhouse was beautiful and clean, well lit and heated. Towels and individual care packages were available. The showers themselves are private with a changing room via the curtain and looks new. It honestly looks newly built it was so nice and fresh. We are coming back to camp!
