For South Carolina residents, PirateLand Camping Resort offers an ideal blend of convenience, family-friendly fun, and the quintessential Myrtle Beach experience. Its close proximity means less travel time and more vacation time, making it an excellent choice for a spontaneous weekend getaway or a planned week-long escape. As one enthusiastic customer exclaimed, "This place was absolutely amazing!! My family loved it here, we only stayed 4 days and regret not staying longer. Our campsite was steps away from the beach and seemingly perfect. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming." This sentiment perfectly captures the immediate appeal and convenience for local families.
The resort’s extensive amenities ensure there’s always something to do, as another review highlights: "Busy busy... lots to do! Rent a Golf cart and have a large time...the pool is good lazy river could use a good sanitizing right after a good scrubbing...A great time to be had by all." While specific maintenance notes were mentioned, the overall consensus points to an abundance of activities. The "kids loved the lazy river and pirate ship play area," and many families, like the one who regretted not staying longer, find themselves wishing for more time to explore all the resort offers, including the mini golf and arcade. The sheer scale of the park often prompts first-time visitors to plan for a golf cart rental on their next visit, emphasizing just how much there is to experience.
Ultimately, PirateLand Camping Resort thrives on creating an environment where "enjoying time with family and friends is #1 and you can make great memories." While individual preferences for campsite size might vary, as noted by a reviewer with a large RV, the overriding benefit for locals is the opportunity to "pack up and go back" for more fun when friends and family are involved. It’s a destination that fosters community, offers endless entertainment, and provides direct access to one of South Carolina's most beloved beaches, making it a highly recommended spot for any local family or couple seeking a truly memorable coastal vacation.

PirateLand Camping Resort Reviews
This place was absolutely amazing!! My family loved it here, we only stayed 4 days and regret not staying longer. Our campsite was steps away from the beach and seemingly perfect. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Check in was easy we found our site and backed right in and set up camp. The pool was awesome, the kids loved the lazy river and pirate ship play area. We never even got to make it to play mini golf or the arcade room. We had so much fun and will plan to rent a golf cart next time because this park is huge! We will definitely be coming back, I highly recommend for a family or couple vacation, you will not be disappointed!
Jun 28, 2025 · Krystal SouderBusy busy... lots to do! Rent a Golf cart and have a large time...putt-putt course needs general maintenance (nothing big) just lots of little things ... pool is good lazy river could use a good sanitizing right after a good scrubbing...Carolina Shore is slowly taking over and making many improvements but its going really slow... I'd suggest they go hard between Oct-Mar A great time to be had by all... as for me personally I'd likely not return on my own. Spots are just too small "4-my 35' right with multiple slides... but if family & friends said; let's go...I MOST LIKELY WILL PACK UP AND GO BACK... we had lots and lots of fun ... I'd recommend it at least give it a try... you might love it if room isn't a concern and enjoying time with family and friends is #1 and you can make great memories ""WE DID""...
Jun 25, 2025 · Chester LepleyThis was our sixth year camping at PirateLand for our family vacation, and it never disappoints! We have a blast every year. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming and family-friendly. The lazy river and pool are top-notch—definitely highlights of the trip. While golf cart rentals are a bit pricey, they’re well worth it for the convenience. We usually camp just about 50 yards from the beach, and our site is right next to a pond where my son loves to spend time fishing. Can’t wait to come back again next year!
Jun 14, 2025 · Lesley HinkleI don’t typically write many online reviews, not because I don’t want to, just because I don’t have time. We just got back from 4 days at Pirateland and for the first time in a long time, I am taking time to leave a review for this amazing place we discovered. We went with friends who have been before and always told us about how great it is, and they were so right. From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and safe, the staff were super helpful and friendly and we checked in with ease. We stayed at the lakefront park model rentals and had the best time. Our kids always had something to do between the beach, pools, and splash pad. We rented a golf cart which is a MUST if you stay here because this place is huge and it’s just so much easier to get around on a cart. There were never any loud parties or unruly tenants that we saw. Quiet time was respected, people were friendly and there was nothing but kids and families enjoying themselves. We will be back!!!
Jun 02, 2025 · Jason LongI hesitate to leave this review, because Pirateland is already a popular place and I want it all to myself. But the fact is this place is amazing. My family and I have been staying at the Villas for years. It’s our go-to beach destination. They almost always have activities planned for kids that are fun and inexpensive, if not free. The private beach access is always great and the pool is great. The price is great too. The Wi-Fi is usually bad, but I don’t really miss it with all there is to do at the resort and in the area in general.
