3.0
Would not recommend this campground. Sites are dirty, old, and need a ton of maintenance. The pavement and speed bumps are a nightmare; cracked and pot holes throughout. When we got to our site, it had not been prepped or cleaned after the previous people had left. We had booked the site a month beforehand with plenty of time for the site to be cleaned and when we showed up management simply said “we would have had it ready had we known you were coming today”. Keep in mind we booked a seasonal spot and came weeks AFTER they opened to park our camper. When we got to our site, the spot where a camper used to be was all dirt, weeds were growing out from the few spots gravel was remaining, and we were finding huge decking screws for months all around our site. After the first rainfall when we got there, our site was completely flooded. We couldn’t step out of our camper without our feet being completely submerged in water. We made management aware and the campground refused to add stones / assist with flooding because it was our responsibility now that it was “our site”. The campground stated more stones were not in their budget and we would have to pay for the stone out of pocket. We came in contact with a few of the front desk staff who were very rude as well.** also do not believe any of the amenities listed in the website. There is always a pool that has closed / being fixed and the gym is closed and we were told they have no current plans of having it re-open! Anywhere else in OOB is better than this place - Tj Jagnjic

For Mainers seeking a camping experience with easy access to the vibrant attractions and sandy shores of Old Orchard Beach, Pinehirst Campground offers a unique option. Situated just a short distance from the famous OOB pier and beach, this RV resort provides a convenient base for exploring one of Maine's most popular coastal destinations. While it aims to deliver a full range of amenities and a great location, recent feedback suggests a varied experience for campers.

Pinehirst Campground is positioned as an RV resort with a large number of sites (over 500), catering primarily to RVs and offering seasonal spots. Its appeal often lies in its proximity to Old Orchard Beach, allowing guests to enjoy the seaside fun without the hassle of parking. The availability of a trolley service to the beach is a significant convenience, making excursions to the oceanfront effortless and cost-free in terms of parking fees. This allows families, including those with dogs, to easily enjoy the beach and pier experience.

However, it's important for prospective campers to be aware of mixed reviews regarding the campground's maintenance and management. Some recent feedback indicates that certain areas, including campsites and internal roads, may be in need of significant upkeep, with issues like potholes, uneven ground, and drainage problems being reported. There have also been concerns raised about communication with staff and the condition or availability of advertised amenities, such as pools and fitness facilities, suggesting that not all services listed on the website may be consistently operational or well-maintained.

Despite these reported challenges, Pinehirst Campground's location remains a strong selling point for many. For those prioritizing proximity to Old Orchard Beach and its lively atmosphere, along with features like dog-friendliness and trolley service, it can still serve as a practical choice. It's advisable for Mainers considering a stay to contact the campground directly to confirm the current status of specific amenities and site conditions to ensure it meets their expectations for an Old Orchard Beach getaway.
