Pine Grove Campground Introduce
For Arizonans looking to trade the intense desert heat for the cool, crisp air of the high country, Pine Grove Campground is an exceptional choice. Situated in the heart of the Coconino National Forest, just south of Flagstaff, this popular campground offers a classic camping experience surrounded by majestic ponderosa pines and open meadows. It provides a peaceful and scenic base camp for exploring the numerous recreational opportunities in the area, from fishing and boating on nearby lakes to hiking and biking on the extensive trail system.
Pine Grove is known for its spacious and well-maintained individual campsites, providing a sense of privacy and tranquility even during peak season. The campground's layout, with its mix of sunny meadows and shaded pine stands, caters to a variety of preferences. While some reviews mention noise from the nearby highway, many visitors find the overall atmosphere to be quiet and relaxing, especially on weekdays. The presence of well-kept facilities, including clean restrooms and picnic areas, adds a level of comfort that makes it a great choice for both seasoned campers and those new to the outdoors.
It is a quintessential northern Arizona getaway, offering a reprieve from city life and an opportunity to reconnect with nature. The clear, star-filled night skies are a major highlight, providing a breathtaking spectacle for campers after a day of exploration. The campground's popularity, particularly on weekends, is a testament to its appeal among local residents who know it as a reliable spot for a memorable and refreshing escape.
Pine Grove Campground is located at 19356 Lake Mary Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, USA. It is easily accessible via the scenic Lake Mary Road, a major highway that runs southeast from Flagstaff. The campground entrance is a well-marked right turn onto a short spur road, located approximately 17 miles south of the city. The paved roads leading to the campground make it easy for all vehicles, including RVs and trailers, to navigate.
The campground's proximity to Lake Mary is one of its major advantages. Upper Lake Mary, a large reservoir popular for power boating, fishing, and kayaking, is just a short drive away. This makes it a great spot for water-based activities. The campground is also situated near a section of the famous Arizona Trail, providing hikers and mountain bikers with direct access to a vast network of scenic paths. For day-use visitors, there is a free, on-site parking lot. The campground is well-equipped with wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking, ensuring that all visitors can comfortably enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Its convenient location, just 20 miles from Flagstaff, means that campers can easily run into town for supplies, groceries, or to explore local attractions like Lowell Observatory or the Museum of Northern Arizona.

May 25 · Brian Church***Review on showers only****Showers are $7 for 8 mins. The shower was okay clean, like the walls could use a good scrub. The temperature was good and got to temp fast. There is no way to control the temp or pressure. The pressure was fine in the afternoon. The showers only take quarters, there is a change machine outside the showers. The showers are located at the entrance just turn left towards the dump station/waterfill and they are in the building on the right. Just park and use the showers you do not have to interact with anyone.Waterfill $5Dumpstation $14

July 08 · Lora MahrLove this campground. Most sites have a lot of space in between. The restrooms are always clean, along with the shower area. We've been there 3 times and plan on returning when our schedule allows. It's always been peaceful and at all times the camp hosts are friendly, helpful, and make frequent rounds.
