Montana, known as "Big Sky Country," offers an unparalleled outdoor experience, and campgrounds like Piegan Crossing are vital access points to this natural wonder. Whether you're a seasoned RVer, a tent camper, or someone looking for a peaceful retreat, understanding the specifics of a campground before you arrive is crucial. Our goal is to provide clear, engaging, and factual information to assist you in planning your trip.
Piegan Crossing RV Park and Campground is strategically located at 4463 US-89, Babb, MT 59411, USA. This address places it in a prime position for exploring some of Montana's most iconic natural attractions. Babb is a small community situated in Northern Montana, renowned for its proximity to the eastern entrance of Glacier National Park. The park's stunning glaciers, pristine forests, alpine meadows, and rugged mountains are a major draw for visitors worldwide. Being on US-89 provides relatively easy access for those traveling from various parts of Montana, making it a convenient stopover or a destination in itself.
Accessibility is a key factor for any campground, especially for those pulling RVs or trailers. US-89 is a well-maintained highway, generally providing a smooth approach to the campground. For Montana residents, this location offers a relatively straightforward drive, whether you're coming from the Flathead Valley, Great Falls, or other regions of the state. Its position near Glacier National Park means you can be at the park's entrance within a short drive, allowing for more time to hike, explore, and immerse yourself in the wilderness.
Understanding the services offered at a campground is paramount to a comfortable and enjoyable stay. While specific, up-to-the-minute details can sometimes fluctuate, based on the nature of an RV park and campground, potential services typically include:
- RV hookups (electric, water, sewer)
- Tent camping sites
- Restroom facilities
- Shower facilities
- Potable water access
- Designated fire pits
- Picnic tables
It is important to note that a recent review from June 15th, 2024, mentioned that the park appeared empty with no services seemingly turned on, including water and electricity. This suggests that the park may be in a state of transition or not fully operational at all times. Prospective visitors are strongly encouraged to contact the campground directly to confirm current operating status and available services before planning their trip. This proactive step will ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, avoiding any unexpected disappointments upon arrival.
The features and highlights of any campground often center around its natural surroundings and the experiences it facilitates. For Piegan Crossing RV Park and Campground, the primary highlight is undeniably its proximity to Glacier National Park. This offers unparalleled opportunities for:

The "Big Sky beauty" mentioned in a customer review perfectly encapsulates the potential allure of this location. Big Sky beauty. And such a kind staff. I look forward to staying here in the future. Thank you. James
Aug 03, 2022 · Start LovingDrove into the park today, Jun 15th 2024. The park was empty. Nothing was posted, no number to call. Nobody there, no other RV's either. The water faucets didn't produce water. Didn't look like there was electricity turned on. My guess is that the park was somebody's dream that got started but never materialized.
