Peniel Bible Camp Reviews
Last weekend I was at Peniel Bible Camp, Chesterville Ohio, for the first time for a ladies retreat. I pass the entrance often as I live within a few miles of the camp and have always wondered about it.We had a marvelous time! The grounds are beautiful, with a huge lake, walking trails, canoeing, paddle boats, a zip line, and an axe throwing area just to name a few of the things to do.They fed us breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the food was plentiful and delicious. The cabins are older, but they told us they are building new ones very soon with bathrooms inside the new cabins. They currently only have a few buildings that have indoor plumbing as it is truly a camp. It is however, just as I expected. I was not disappointed. The bathrooms/shower houses are just a very short walk away.We did craft, a door hanger, with paint and lots of stencils, flowers etc. to decorate however you wanted. They have a snack shop that also has shirts, sweat shirts, hoodies, books, etc. Inside the snack shop they have a large area with tables where you can play the board games and other things they have in there.Outside they have several areas with fire pits and chairs or swings around the fire pit.Around the lake they have benches where you can sit by the water. My friend and I watched canoe races on one of those benches. What a great time we had that day!The speaker they had was wonderful! Very encouraging and uplifting.I would definitely recommend this place if you're on the fence about going. I would definitely go back. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Posting a pic of the lake while on a hike, and axe throwing.
Sep 13, 2024 · Vesta DanielPeniel Bible Camp is truly an amazing place! This past year (2023) was definitely my favorite year of all 3. I always look forward to coming back in the summer. I enjoy the activities, food, snack shop, and chapel messages. I always look forward to whom I might get in my cabin and whom I might have as my counselor(s). I truly enjoy meeting God face to face at Peniel.
Aug 10, 2023 · Matthew GibsonI absolutely love this place! It's a great place to come and meet God and learn about him, or just to bring your family hear to have a good time! The stars are so easy to see at night as well, especially out on the soccer field! And the food was so good! The only problem I found was that with everything spread apart so far, I would recommend bringing comfortable shoes, you'll be walking a lot, and plenty of water bottles, especially by the fact that the cafeteria is so far from the cabins. Also, it gets a little cold at night, so make sure you bring a warm blanket and hoodie. But it's an overall amazing place, and the zip line is a BREEZE! I would definitely make this a part of my every summer.
Sep 29, 2021 · Jillian The Artist TwerpWe have been going to Peniel Bible Camp off and on since 1999. Our family at one time or another has been involved in Family camp, teen camp, as camp counselors and attending the Memorial Day celebrations. The thing that attracted us originally is still true today-fidelity to the Word of God. We are so thankful for Peniel!
May 28, 2022 · Michael HavenerA gem in the woods. My kids love Camp Peniel. It is a highlight of their summer. They love the activities. I love that they are learning truth from the Bible, spending time outdoors and having good clean fun.
