Palmetto Ridge Campground Reviews
This was a wonderful place with so much to do and lots of wildlife! During our stay we saw possums, raccoons, alligators, bunnies, and squirrels — it was amazing to be surrounded by so much nature. We stayed in site 49, which was spacious and clean, but unfortunately it was located right across from the dumpster. The garbage was extremely smelly and overflowing, and it looked like it hadn’t been picked up in a while. At night, we saw tons of possums and raccoons raiding it. Right before we left, they finally came to clean it up, after it had already been torn through by animals.Aside from that, everything else was great. The bathhouses were very nice and well maintained. The canopy walk was super cool and definitely one of a kind! There is currently a fire ban in place, so be sure to check that before your stay. Also, the water isn’t suitable for drinking right now, but the park is providing free water, which was really helpful. We stayed April 11–13 and were pleasantly surprised — barely any bugs during our visit! Overall, a beautiful park with tons of nature and unique experiences.
Apr 13, 2025 · Alyssa McIntyreCampground is clean with roomy, private site. So handy that each site has power and water. Bath houses are clean, heated and cooled, lots of hot water, washer and dryers. State Park has great hiking trails and canopy walk is nearby, a must see.
Jan 28, 2024 · M JonesGreat!! We had a good time at this Campground. The state park had so much to do. We walked the canopy walkway, saw some gators, fished and drove around a lot! There were deer, squirrels, wild turkeys, gators, really neat birds and we even saw a wild boar. The site we stayed in was 89 and it was really big! Our rig is 36 feet with slides on both sides and the site was still plenty big.
Jan 19, 2024 · Amanda GresiakOne of the best state campgrounds geared specifically of RV's. The sites are very long and wide. Each of the sites has full hookups. There are around 10 long pull thru sites. Unfortunately, the dump station at each site will only work with big trailers or motor coaches due to the height of the connection. The 2 other campgrounds in the park only have water and power.
Oct 24, 2023 · Capt. NormAwesome campground! Clean, spacious, easy to navigate even with a bigger rig. Bathrooms, washer & dryer are clean and easily accessible. Park is huge, lots of areas to explore, either by biking or walking around!
