Its position on US Route 3 ensures good road access, making it a relatively easy drive for New Hampshire locals coming from various parts of the state.
Accessibility from major routes is straightforward. For instance, from Interstate 93, whether traveling North or South, campers can take Exit 24 (Ashland / Holderness) and then turn right off the exit ramp. Following through Ashland center and bearing left onto Route 3 / 25 towards Holderness / Ashland, the campground is approximately 7.5 miles on the right-hand side. Owls Landing Campground Reviews
Beware of this place. A sign off the main road says campground ahead and said they were open until 10pm. We showed at 950 to a closed building and went ahead to turn around and a bunch of drunk people threaten you when entering. People shouting slow down when you are parking then they come block your vehicle preventing you from leaving when you try to find the exit. Two guys tried to open our car door (thank god it was locked) and luckily we had our German Shepard to protect us. This place definitely does not welcome visitors. They legit blocked our front and rear car preventing us to leave while they tried to attack us and jump on the car. Stay far away from this place. It should be shut down. I will be contacting the state and providing the videos of them attacking the car while their little kids watched holding their parents booze.**Edited based on their response. the vehicle was going the posted speed limit. The road is a dirt road with rocks and tree roots. Nobody had a radar gun to determine my vehicle speed. It was pitch black outside. Not open for the season?? There were tons of campers and your website said it was open (even on Google) and the BIG sign on the main road. How else would we know to pull into a campground when looking for a campground in a rental car driving far away from home?? If it was closed, why did we get ambushed to prevent us from leaving and held hostage. Video for proof!
May 12, 2024 · Kenneth BiagioniFriendly camping area. Hook up or tent camping. Great location near the lake.
May 30, 2025 · Ghoststorm DeathKnightBooked a tent site for the weekend. The seasonal people, mostly middle aged bikers, were very friendly. The staff was helpful and kind. They have a corner store with all the necessities and a decent pool that I used to cool off. This campground provides the basics. The arcade and playground were in tough shape but that had no impact on my stay. I wanted to paddle squam lake so the location was perfect. I was happy with my stay.
Jul 25, 2022 · Joseph CandilieriWe loved how quiet and wooded the location was. You could hear loons calling at night. This is a great campground for the loyal seasonal people who call it home. Everyone we met was friendly. If you're just popping in for a few days look elsewhere - despite the good rate. What we didn't love:No wifi anywhereNo toilets aside from the office bathrooms which was a 10 min walk from our site and no tp or paper towels in those. No functioning playgroundOur site was full of leaves and winter tree debris. We bought a rake and cleaned it ourselvesIt was opening weekend but operations were just not on point.
May 30, 2023 · kimberly “Berly” murphyI had not been back to this camp ground in 20 years and I am so glad I brought my youngest daughter to one of the best camp grounds ever. The owners are beyond kind, the campers are friendly, fun and accepting. This has become our new home for summers spent camping. There is nothing better than Owls Landing, there is always something going on, the pool is in the perfect sunny spot
