3.0
We have a 42’ MotorHome towing a 20’ trailer along with an F-150. The spot they put us in accommodated our units and we were generally happy. The park is beautiful and very quiet. The problem was getting into the space. They originally had us in one spot but because of our size I couldn’t get into it. If we could have, the space was big enough for us. They moved us to another spot, which I was able to pull in first attempt. So they are very accommodating and helpful. But here’s the deal: if you have a unit longer than 30’, you are sliding down the road as you leave. You see it’s posted as a 7% downgrade on gravel! I believe them. I pulled our trailer down the down the hill and slide 2 feet and rolled one foot. It was beyond scary! When we left I backed down the hill from our spot because it was not as steep, rather than attempt to leave via their path. It was just too dangerous to pull forward. The hill is that steep. I spoke to other campers with big units and they expressed the same concern. This is too bad. The park itself is really nice! Great WiFi, quiet with deer roaming about. But getting in and out with a rig that is longer than 30’ is challenging. Anything shorter than that and this is a 5 star park. Longer than that you could stay here but it is a challenge to get in and out.One other thing. They recently installed about 15 brand new cabins that once open will make this a great park. Service was great, the helpers were quiet, but the space between sites was a little tight.Stay here but just be forewarned if you have a big unit. - Scott Hammond

Outback Montana RV Park & Campground Introduce

Introduction / Overview

For Montana locals seeking an authentic and nature-immersed camping experience with the convenience of modern amenities, Outback Montana RV Park & Campground in Bigfork stands out. Established in 1976, this family-run campground offers a genuine outdoor escape, distinguishing itself from "paved glorified parking lots" by providing heavily forested, shaded, and outdoorsy sites. It’s a place where deer roam freely, and the stars at night seem close enough to touch.

Outback Montana RV Park & Campground caters to a wide range of campers, offering a mix of full hookup RV sites, tent sites, and even newly installed cabins. Its prime location near Flathead Lake and within easy reach of Glacier National Park makes it an ideal basecamp for exploring the beauty of Northwestern Montana. While guests rave about the quiet atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, larger RV owners should be aware of a specific challenging grade upon exit. However, the park's accommodating staff and overall pleasant environment ensure a comfortable and memorable stay for most visitors. Whether you're looking for a short getaway or an extended stay, Outback Montana RV Park & Campground provides a unique and valuable option for experiencing the best of Montana's natural splendor.

Location and Accessibility

Outback Montana RV Park & Campground is conveniently situated at 13772 Outback Ln, Bigfork, MT 59911, USA. This places it perfectly between Woods Bay and Downtown Bigfork, at the north end of Flathead Lake. Its strategic location offers easy access to a wealth of activities and attractions that draw both local Montanans and visitors to the region.

The campground is located just a few miles south of Bigfork on Highway 35, ensuring straightforward access via paved roads for most vehicles. This makes it a practical choice for RVers, including those with larger rigs, although a specific caution is warranted. While many sites are spacious and easily accessible, some very large motorhomes and trailers (over 30 feet) may find the gravel exit road, noted as a "7% downgrade," challenging to navigate, with reports of sliding. However, the staff is known to be "very accommodating and helpful" in assisting with site placement. Despite this specific note for large rigs, the overall accessibility to the beautiful Flathead Lake, nearby boat launches, and the charming town of Bigfork is excellent. Glacier National Park is also within a 60-minute drive, solidifying Outback Montana RV Park & Campground as a prime location for exploring the region's natural wonders.
