Oh Be Joyful Recreation Area Reviews
Beautiful spot for wildflower lovers! We visited Crested Butte a little early in the season for wildflowers, but it was still incredibly beautiful. The landscape is stunning, and we were able to catch glimpses of the early blooms. I can only imagine how breathtaking it must be during the peak season in late June. Definitely a must-visit for nature lovers and hikers!
Jun 08, 2025 · PoojaOne of my favourite spots in Colorado. If you can reserve a camp site you get better access to the recreation area but there can be heavy traffic. Slate river bed, plenty of hiking trails, horseback and ATV trails too. Really massive area with tons to explore, it gets super beautiful in the fall. There are open car camping sites in the very back, but can fill up quickly each site comes with a metal fire pit. All around a really great place to visit or camp, I really recommend checking out Oh Be Joyful for relaxed camping and spectacular views.

Sep 05, 2024 · Erik BlomquistBeautiful campground!Great base camp for outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, backpacking and only 15 mins drive to town. We stayed a couple nights here and cant wait to go back!
Sep 30, 2021 · Piaw KerdpechWe loved our time at the Oh Be Joyful campground. Stayed for 7 nights and it became one of our top camp sites! We were in site 7 and liked the area and the little stroll to get to it from the parking spot. Tucked away from the other campers and RV’s so it was nice. Easy access to the river that we liked going to after a hike. For $10/night you can’t beat it! The 2-week reservation setup worked to our advantage when our other plans for the week fell through. We had tried to camp here a few years back but it was full so we were thankful to come back and experience it. Our site was also big enough to hold our large tent, so that’s a huge plus! The bear-safe was incredible to have! We’d love to return here!
