Jun 18, 2025 · Kirk SampsonThe only reason not 5 stars is because of their policy of only being able to stay 21 days then having to leave for 10. Otherwise we absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful location, clean bathhouses, reasonably priced general store, friendly staff and felt very safe. Will definitely recommend to others and will go back next time we want to camp.
May 12, 2025 · Heatherly BrooksWe love it when we come through this way, lake views, spacious sites, a lil store, tennis courts and 2 bath houses, one was just redone completely. NOT A COMPLAINT, IT'S JUST NATURE but Please please be wary of cotton mouth snakes that lay on the rocks by water's edge sunning themselves. We saw 6 or 7 in a 20 ft span by the edge. Please be careful with pets and small children.
Apr 16, 2025 · Lorael NakataI wish I could speak on the amenities & views at the actual campground, however we never got to stay there. I booked this campground as a getaway for my husband and I for our 21st anniversary. I picked it because of it's fairly decent reviews & distance from the concert venue we were going to Sat night. However due to traffic and a major accident we were unable to make it Friday night before the 7:30pm check in requirements. Thankfully my husband remembered that rule before we drove an extra hour and a half to this campground that they had a no check-in after 7:30pm rule. However, what they don't tell you . . . gates are locked at 7:30pm so you cannot get in or out. Had we driven all the way there we would not have been able to get to our site anyway. So we had to scramble to find another place to stay at the very last minute. Luckily we were able to find a spot at a NC State Park near where we were stuck in the accident traffic, so I booked a night there. When I spoke to the staff at this campground I was told we could return at 8am the next morning when the gates would be unlocked & opened. Then my husband and I both realized that we still couldn't stay there because obviously a concert on Saturday night that has a 7pm start time would not get out in time for us to get back to our camper at 7:30pm before the lockdown. So not only did I lose my $90 that I paid for a site I couldn't logistically use, but I had to pay for another site so we had a place to park our camper and sleep.By the way this notation on the site "Campers must register in the office by 7:30 p.m. Late check-in is not permitted" doesn't give the full story. If you are fine getting locked in a campground from 7:30pm until 8am the next morning then this is the place for you. If that doesn't seem like a good idea to you then there are plenty of beautiful state parks in NC with camping that don't shut gates and lock you in. I'd suggest going there first. We normally only camp at State Parks and this is why. I won't make that mistake again.
Mar 03, 2025 · Jennifer LehmanThere are no rooms but plenty of camp sites. My friends had a spot right on the water, where they could fish right from their tent if they wanted to. They have a big building where you can shower and use the bathroom. The playground isn't very good, but they do have an in ground pool. Lots of areas for trailers and their big trucks. Several camp sites have electric and for 30.00 a night you can't complain.
