Oak Bottom Campground is located at 1201 Salmon River Rd, Somes Bar, CA 95568, USA, deep within the vast expanse of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. This places it in a beautiful, somewhat remote part of Northern California, where the Klamath and Salmon Rivers converge. While the address provides a clear geographical marker, it's crucial for visitors to note that general navigation apps like Google Maps may sometimes display an incorrect location. As highlighted by previous campers, the correct location is typically "just a short bit east" of where the map might initially point. Always look for official signage once you are in the vicinity of Somes Bar.
The campground's setting along the Salmon River Road means it's accessible, though the drive into this region of Northern California itself is a scenic journey. This unique riverside positioning makes Oak Bottom Campground an ideal base for exploring the unspoiled beauty of the surrounding national forest and experiencing the tranquility of a genuine Northern California wilderness.

Sep 04, 2020 · Sundy MacalinaoA most awesome campground and host as other reviews say. Located in the Heart of gods creation and in America the beautiful. Please don’t tell your friends it just for us.
Oct 20, 2019 · Jason MarquetteThis place is great. The bathrooms are super clean and there’s water and trash/recycling but otherwise there’s not much out here which is the whole point. Face is the best host of any camp site we’ve ever been at. She went above an beyond to make us comfortable and set us our own perfect space. She has these fabulous ducks that are a threatened variety and the kids and adults alike loved them. Another reviewer mentioned they were loud but aside from them talking to us when we walked up to them we never heard them. Camp sites are well spaced and our 20’ travel trailer fit nicely in several of the sites. We ended up extending our stay night after night because they area had so much to offer. You can gather firewood but don’t forget the bug spray. We will be back to this little oasis.
