Swimming Access: A primary attraction is the quarry itself, offering opportunities for swimming in its clear, spring-fed waters. This unique natural "pool" is a central service for visitors, especially during warmer months.
Hiking and Walking Trails: The park provides trails that are generally well-maintained for walking and hiking, allowing visitors to explore the scenic beauty of the ledges and surrounding forest. These trails are characterized by lush greenery.

Nelson Ledges Quarry Park distinguishes itself with a unique set of natural features and a vibrant cultural scene, making it more than just a typical campground.

The primary draws remain the unique quarry swimming and the natural hiking experience.

Nelson Ledges Quarry Park Reviews
The park is well-maintained, and the trails are easy to navigate. The shrubs that line the trails are particularly attractive, with their lush greenery. It’s a pleasant place for both walking and hiking. However, my visit to the glass walkway was a bit disappointing. The walkway was muddy and difficult to see through the glass, revealing the area below. Considering its age and the scratches it bore, I would rate it a three out of ten. The pictures on the website make the walkway appear much longer and more inviting, creating a much better impression.
May 30, 2025 · Thomas ParkerIf you're looking to hike or fish, I don't recommend. We came in and directions weren't very clear about parking, trails, or fishing. And it was over $60 for a day pass for 2 adults and 2 kids. They have 2 fishing ponds, but neither has many clear areas to actually fish. The one was so algae covered and there was construction going on. And we didn't find any trails, just roads through the camping areas. Rundown and confusing. The people were nice though.
Jun 07, 2025 · Amanda KimbleWe went to Classic Fest, the one parking patron put on our window we needed two large spots, the person who put us where we were said your not getting two large spots and put us in a area that already wet, needless to say he put us where the water runs off by a drain. When it rained Friday night all of are stuff was under water, totally muddy mess, we had no choice but to pack up and go home.

Jun 15, 2025 · Allycia SweitzerOne of my favorite places anywhere. The best vibes, solid crowd, reliable staff and maintenance crew. I come as often as I can. The Sunny Days and Badfish Festivals are always the highlight of the spring and is normally my first opportunity to go camping in my hammock every year."We all get a little strange down here. Nothing weird tho."
