Municipal Tourist Park focuses on providing essential services that cater to the core needs of campers, particularly those with RVs. While it might not boast a long list of luxury amenities, what it offers is practical and well-maintained for its price point.

- Relatively Quiet for a City Park: Despite its central location, the campground is not overly noisy. While trains may pass by, the general ambiance is often described as peaceful enough for a good night's rest.

Municipal Tourist Park Reviews
We booked our stay thru the city park website. It was quick & easy. We also checked in online, were sent the code to the bathroom/shower, and upon arrival at 6PM found our site number listed on the office window. The bathroom and shower were clean, although not pristine. This is a very basic, adequate campground at a reasonable price. No amenities, gate, or on-site host. However, it’s affordable and convenient to town - and there’s a liquor store across the street! 😜Our grassy site is level, we have FHUs & a picnic table, there are a bathrooms/showers, and a dump station. The park on Main Street, but it’s not really loud. We heard one train come by and it was louder than the traffic. The area behind the RV campground is a grassy knoll with a small park on the other side - nice for dog walking. There were a lot of mosquitoes outside tonight, so we opted to stay in the RV even though it was otherwise a lovely evening. This campground met our needs and was affordable. We would stay here again if we pass thru.
Sep 25, 2024 · Deb B.Well worn out RV park. Many long term campers. Sites are very close together. No site manager around. People in permanent sites telling you what to do and how to park. Has full hookups. Convenient garbage location. Half grassy and some gravel. So made for muddy drive in and parking for your tow vehicle. Back in sites only.
Jul 20, 2024 · Sue HordWe were very disappointed with our booking. Had to cancel after driving 5 hours and move on down the road to our next destination another 5 hours away. Made for a long day! Requested a site for our 42-foot motorhome and tow vehicle. Making our rig a total of around 60 feet. Absolutely could not fit in the spot allocated to us. The sites are not clearly marked from the road, so you pull in guessing. You have to pull off a busy street and block traffic. Sites are located on a slant uphill to boot. Leaving was also hair raising. We had to go over a curb, using an adjacent street, block main street traffic again , and make a turnaround that could have been a disaster if the other cars had not cooperated. Nail biting affair. If you have a larger RV, it is not the place for you. I hope that bookings are scrutinized better for others in the future.
Aug 01, 2023 · Doreen NeumanWhen I made the reservation, I put in the length of our camper, yet they put us in site 1 which is impossible for a 30 ft camper to back in without having to go over the curb, onto the street (stopping traffic). We ended up moving to a different (bigger) site that was unoccupied as there was no way site 1 could fit us.Whoever runs this park needs to stop putting campers there that are longer in length as it sounds as though other campers have had the same issue.Otherwise it’s an ok place as long as you have low expectations. It was a stopover just for us to sleep, thankfully.
Aug 05, 2023 · Heather W.I was looking for an overnight stop and found this municipal RV park. I called to check on availability. I spoke with Diane. She did her best to try and find a spot for me, but told me there was nothing available. About 10 minutes after we ended our phone conversation Diane used caller ID to call me back and seemed excited to let me know she found an open site! I was extremely appreciative because it was beginning to look like I was going to have to make some major changes to my travel plans. When I arrived at the park I realized some adjustments would need to be made. I called the city office. Diane was not not there, but another kind individual helped me out and everything worked out perfectly! I even got a chance to meet the municipal utilities superintendent. He was friendly and supportive. I highly recommend this RV park!
