Whether you're looking for a tranquil spot to park your RV, a place to launch your boat on High Rock Lake, or a community-oriented camping experience, understanding the specifics of Moose Lodge Camping Grounds is key to planning your next North Carolina adventure.
Moose Lodge Camping Grounds is located at 6401-6499 Long Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146, USA. This address places the campground in Rowan County, North Carolina, specifically in the vicinity of High Rock Lake. High Rock Lake is the second-largest lake in North Carolina, offering extensive opportunities for boating, fishing, and other water-based activities.
The location on Long Ferry Road suggests a more rural or semi-rural setting, providing campers with a peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Despite its tranquil atmosphere, the campground remains relatively accessible. Salisbury, the county seat of Rowan County, is within a reasonable driving distance, offering a variety of essential services, shopping centers, dining options, and cultural attractions.
Access to the campground is primarily by personal vehicle. While Long Ferry Road can be "very curvy" as noted in some directions for a nearby facility, it leads directly to the camping grounds. For those traveling with RVs, the roads are generally suitable for larger vehicles. Being near a major lake means that the area is well-suited for those who enjoy water sports and fishing, with a direct boat ramp available. The balance of a quiet, scenic location with reasonable access to nearby towns makes Moose Lodge Camping Grounds a practical choice for locals seeking a natural escape without being too far off the beaten path. It's a place where you can enjoy the peace of the lake while still being connected to necessary amenities.

It's important to note that access to these services generally requires membership in the Loyal Order of Moose.
Moose Lodge Camping Grounds offers several distinct features and highlights that enhance the camping experience for its members and their guests in North Carolina. These elements contribute to its appeal as a relaxing and family-friendly destination:
Lakeside Location on High Rock Lake: A major highlight is its prime location on High Rock Lake, one of North Carolina's largest and most popular lakes. This provides beautiful "very relaxing" views and direct access to water activities like boating and fishing from the on-site boat ramp and lighted dock.
Spacious and Wooded Sites: The campground boasts "large wooded sites," which offer privacy and shade, especially beneficial during warmer months. Sites are generally flat and roomy, accommodating various camping setups, from RVs to tents. Some sites even offer private access to the lake, enhancing the natural experience.
Family-Friendly Amenities: The presence of a "playground" for children ensures entertainment for younger visitors. The large covered picnic area and horseshoe pits provide communal spaces for families and groups to gather and enjoy outdoor activities.
Well-Maintained Facilities: Reviewers consistently praise the cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds and facilities, including the "very well-maintained" shower house. This attention to cleanliness significantly enhances the comfort level for all campers.
Quiet and Peaceful Atmosphere: Despite offering various amenities, the campground is often described as "nice and quiet." This makes it an ideal spot for those seeking a tranquil escape from urban noise and a relaxing environment for unwinding.
Community Focus (Membership-Based): As a Moose Lodge facility, it inherently offers a community-focused environment. While this means membership is typically required, it can foster a strong sense of camaraderie and shared experience among visitors, offering a unique social aspect not always found in public campgrounds.
Variety of Accommodation Options: With both RV/tent sites (including full hookups) and cabins with basic amenities, the campground caters to different camping preferences and needs, providing flexibility for visitors.
These features collectively make Moose Lodge Camping Grounds a compelling choice for members of the Loyal Order of Moose looking for a well-equipped, peaceful, and community-oriented camping destination in North Carolina.
As a facility managed by a fraternal organization, Moose Lodge Camping Grounds typically operates differently from purely commercial campgrounds regarding "promotions" or "special offers." Access to the camping grounds and its rates are generally tied to membership in the Loyal Order of Moose. Therefore, "promotions" are often inherent in the membership benefits or specific rates offered to members.
Member-Exclusive Rates: The primary "offer" is the exclusive access and potentially lower camping rates available to members of the Loyal Order of Moose. For example, campsites with power and water might be available for around $35 per night, and those without hookups for $25 per night. This represents a value for members who frequently utilize Moose Lodge facilities.
Annual, Monthly, Weekly, and Daily Rentals: The lodge offers flexible rental options, including annual, monthly, weekly, and daily rates, depending on availability. While annual or monthly rates are likely for members seeking long-term stays, daily and weekly options provide flexibility for shorter trips.
Event-Based Value: The Lodge often plans community events, such as chili cook-offs, ice cream making contests, a July 4th bike parade, and a big Halloween event with costume and site-decorating contests. While not direct discounts, these activities add significant value to the camping experience for members and their families without additional entry fees for participants.
Fishing Access without Separate Park Fee: Campers at Moose Lodge Camping Grounds do not pay a separate park fishing fee, although a state fishing license is required. This is an added benefit for fishing enthusiasts.
It is crucial for interested individuals to understand that membership in the Loyal Order of Moose is generally a prerequisite for accessing the camping grounds. Prospective campers should contact the Moose Lodge directly to inquire about membership requirements, current camping rates, site availability, and any specific policies for booking.

Moose Lodge Camping Grounds Reviews
The grounds were great I was a Guest there and really had considered buy memberships for my entire family. Until I heard park manager snapping at members in front of others. Extremely unprofessional of her. It seemed to be like routine I watched her go towards atleast 3 different members and screaming at them from a distance. One poor guy was in his boat with a small child and another adult. Spencer NC Is not really a big community and everyone seems to know everyone else. I myself am new to the area and a local business Owner. Just looking for a place to bring my grandchildren and adult children and maybe a business associate from time to time. And possibly even my employees who raved about this great area that was a member only. Not too sure if I will bring my grandchildren back there. I try to keep negativity out of their lives.
Jun 10, 2020 · Ann HuffmanSo wonderful out here. Nice and quiet. Delores is very nice. They have a playground. Shower house. There is a pop (soda) machine and ice machine under the large covered picnic area. Looks like three horseshoe pits. There is a boat ramp and lighted dock. This is very well-maintained. The view is very relaxing. We love it.

Sep 02, 2024 · CJ FoxWhat a great little place too spend time out on the lake. There are bathrooms and showers and a shelter. There are plenty of places to put a tent and park your RV. We also went there for the 4th of July and had a fantastic time watching a surprisingly great fireworks display. Down to earth people just trying to have a good time.
