Mollidgewock State Park Campground

4.0
This was a great place to camp for the weekend. There’s less privacy between camp sites than some other campgrounds, but everyone was very respectful of quiet hours. Easy access to water and bathrooms, beautiful river views, firewood available to purchase. Dogs were all leashed and well-behaved, mine had a great time! - M. Nina Miller

Mollidgewock State Park Campground is not your typical resort-style camping; it embraces a primitive, back-to-basics approach that many New Hampshire residents cherish. This focus on simplicity allows campers to fully immerse themselves in the natural environment, whether it's by the gentle flow of the Androscoggin River or under a canopy of stars that seem brighter here than almost anywhere else. It’s a place where memories are made around a campfire, where fishing lines cast into the quiet river, and where the majestic beauty of the New Hampshire wilderness truly shines. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with opportunities for outdoor adventure, Mollidgewock State Park Campground is a destination worth exploring right in our own backyard.

Location and Accessibility

Mollidgewock State Park Campground boasts a prime location for New Hampshire residents seeking an accessible yet remote outdoor experience. Situated at 1437 Berlin Rd, Errol, NH 03579, USA, it’s conveniently located approximately 28 miles north of Berlin and a mere three miles south of the charming center of Errol. This means that while you’ll feel a world away, you’re still just a short drive from essential amenities like food, fuel, and supplies in Errol, making it easy to stock up on anything you might have forgotten.

The campground lies along the picturesque Androscoggin River, within the beautiful Thirteen Mile Woods Scenic Area. This scenic drive along NH Route 16 is part of the experience, offering stunning vistas of the surrounding wilderness as you approach. While the drive is generally straightforward, it's worth noting that cell service can be limited in this area, depending on your provider, which only adds to the feeling of getting away from it all. For those with larger vehicles or trailers, be prepared for a slower pace as you navigate within the campground, as some areas can be a bit tight. However, the reward is worth it: a serene riverside setting that truly feels like a hidden treasure in northern New Hampshire.

Services Offered

  • Primitive Camping: The campground primarily offers primitive tent sites, designed for a rustic experience. Some sites can accommodate small trailers and RVs up to 25 feet, but it's important to check specific site details when booking as there are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups available at any campsite.
  • Water Access: Potable water spigots are conveniently located within 200 feet of all main campground sites, ensuring easy access to drinking water. Remote sites require campers to bring their own water or fill containers at the main campground.
  • Restroom Facilities: Pit toilets are available throughout the campground and are noted by visitors for being well-maintained. There are no showers or flush toilets.
  • Camp Store: A small camp store is on-site for purchasing forgotten essentials, including locally sourced firewood. This is especially important as bringing out-of-state firewood is prohibited to prevent the spread of invasive insects and tree diseases.
  • Firewood Sales: Safe, local firewood is available for purchase directly at the campground office or store.
  • Canoe and Kayak Rentals: For those looking to explore the Androscoggin River, canoes and kayaks are available for rent at the campground.
  • Waste Disposal: While trash collection is available at the main campground, remote sites operate on a "carry-in/carry-out" policy, meaning all trash, including biodegradables, must be taken with you upon departure.
  • Recycling Program: Inquire with park staff about available recycling options to help keep New Hampshire clean and green.
