Minister Creek Campground, being a U.S. Forest Service facility within the Allegheny National Forest, typically operates on a standardized fee structure rather than offering traditional "promotions" or "special offers" in the commercial sense. The primary "special offer" is its incredibly low base price for developed campsites, which is consistently around $12 per night, as highlighted by customer reviews. This affordability is a standing promotion in itself, making it one of the most budget-friendly options for camping in Pennsylvania. Furthermore, the availability of free primitive campsites within walking distance of the trailhead serves as another significant value proposition, especially for backpackers and those seeking a more austere wilderness experience without any cost.
While specific seasonal discounts or package deals are generally not applicable to Forest Service campgrounds, visitors holding certain federal interagency passes, such as the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass (Annual, Senior, Access, Military), may receive discounts on expanded amenity fees where applicable, though these usually pertain to day-use areas or specific services rather than the basic camping fee at a rustic site like Minister Creek. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on fees, availability, and any potential changes to pricing, interested individuals should contact the Allegheny National Forest Ranger District directly or visit the official USDA Forest Service website for the Allegheny National Forest. This ensures you have the precise details on what to expect for your visit to this exceptionally well-priced camping destination.

Feb 19, 2025 · LandonAbsolutely stunning place to stay for rustic camping. Very hard to find without a map. There is no service in this space. I brought my Atlas and had no problem finding it but can see many people getting lost along the way. The rustic camping is free of charge. Some sites have a fire ring built and left behind for use. Some sites you have to build it yourself using rocks. There is a string of sites to pick from along the minister creek. Some are more secluded than others. Arrive early for the best picks. Good fishing and good hiking up to the lookout. The animals are active so be sure to leave your food in your car. There are black bears. Absolutely under no circumstances leave food in your tent. The bugs were biting so be sure to bring spray or citronella candles.Buy these things before you get to the Allegheny forest the small towns don’t have much in their stores and what they do have is expensive. Unless you are a fan of stimulating the local economy, then be sure to save your hotdog and hamburger shopping for the small town Tops and Dollar General. If you are looking for a very natural and laid back experience come to Minister Creek, if you want campsites side by side with staff and restrooms go to Dewdrop.
May 26, 2021 · Annaka JaneProbably the nicest thing about this Campground is its access to the Minister Creek Trail System. There is access to the North Loop, Middle Loop and South Loop trails directly from the campground. Even the relatively short South Loop includes the Minister Valley Overlook, impressive giant boulder outcroppings, ferns, mosses and conifer trees.
Jul 21, 2020 · Tom FleischmanTiny pay campground (6 sites) on a bend in the road across from the Minister Creek Recreation parking area. Three campsites creekside. Most shady. Fire rings and picnic tables. Nice pit toilets at end of path. No cell service.Minister Creek is lovely and our site was great. The location has a remote deep woods feel, but the recreation area can be busy. There is a network of nice trails that is next to the campground, and some people who are there for a hike will walk through the campground as well. One day there were two busses full of high school students that parked at the parking area. The students hiked the trails. One photo below shows trail map. The campground is in the lower right corner (just barely in the photo).
