Miners Camps RV Park Introduce

For Californians seeking a refreshing getaway that combines the ease of RV camping with abundant water recreation and a peaceful environment, Miners Camps RV Park in Wallace, CA, offers a compelling option. Situated conveniently near the popular Lake Camanche, this RV park provides a basecamp for exploring the scenic beauty and recreational opportunities of California's Gold Country. It's a place where families can easily enjoy fishing, boating, and stunning sunsets, all while benefiting from the comforts of a dedicated RV park.

Miners Camps RV Park is particularly appealing for those who prefer trailer or motorhome camping, with sites designed for easy access to the water. The park's proximity to both the main lake and a dedicated pond means diverse aquatic experiences are just a short walk away. While the pond is reserved for activities other than swimming, the main lake offers ample opportunities for a refreshing dip, and crucially, it's located within a "no wake zone." This is a significant advantage for those who enjoy tranquil boating, kayaking, or paddleboarding, ensuring that all water activities can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, fostering a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Fishing enthusiasts will find plenty to love, with good fishing reported in both the pond and lake locations, making it a "family easy" activity. The park strives to maintain a pleasant atmosphere, with "quiet times" enforced by roving rangers, contributing to an enjoyable experience for all guests. However, it's important for prospective visitors to note that experiences can vary, as some reviews mention issues with site cleanliness upon arrival, unlevel sites, and uphill sewer hookups, along with dusty conditions and dirty beaches due to duck activity. Despite these isolated concerns, the park's potential for amazing sunsets and its overall family-friendly, quiet ambiance remain strong draws for many California campers looking for a relaxing lakeside retreat.

Location and Accessibility

Miners Camps RV Park is located at 11700 Wade Ln, Wallace, CA 95254, USA. This address places it squarely within the recreational area surrounding Lake Camanche, a popular destination in California's Central Valley, specifically in Calaveras County. The town of Wallace, while small, serves as a gateway to this vibrant outdoor region, known for its rolling hills, oak woodlands, and extensive water resources.

The park's location offers excellent accessibility for RVers and campers from major metropolitan areas across California. It is situated roughly equidistant from the greater Sacramento area to the north and the Stockton/Modesto area to the west, making it a convenient drive for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation. Access is typically via well-maintained state highways and county roads leading directly to the Lake Camanche South Shore entrance, where Miners Camps RV Park is nestled.

Being part of the larger Lake Camanche Recreation Area means that while the RV park itself provides a specific experience, visitors have easy access to the broader amenities and attractions of the reservoir. This includes multiple boat launches, additional campgrounds, and general stores. The setting is generally tranquil, but its popularity, particularly during peak seasons, means that visitors should plan their routes and check for any local traffic advisories, especially when approaching on holidays. The scenic drive through the undulating landscape leading to the park sets the tone for a relaxing outdoor adventure.

Services Offered

Miners Camps RV Park is primarily designed to cater to RV and motorhome campers, offering a range of services aimed at providing a comfortable and convenient stay by the lake.

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: The park provides sites with full hookups, which typically include water, electric (with varying amp services like 30 or 50 amp), and sewer connections. This is a crucial amenity for RVers, allowing for extended stays with the comforts of home.

  • Easy Lake and Pond Access: A significant advantage is the "easy walk" access to both the main lake and a separate pond. This means convenient opportunities for various water-based activities directly from your campsite area.

  • Restroom and Shower Facilities: While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews for Miners Camps specifically, other campgrounds within the Lake Camanche Recreation Area typically offer restroom facilities with hot showers. Given that Miners Camps RV Park is part of this larger complex, it is reasonable to expect access to such facilities. (It's worth noting some specific reviews for other Lake Camanche campgrounds mention hot showers.)

  • Designated No Wake Zone Access: The park offers access to the main lake within a "no wake zone," which is ideal for quiet boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, and serene swimming without the disturbance of high-speed motorboats.

  • Roving Rangers and Enforced Quiet Times: To ensure a pleasant experience for all guests, the park has roving rangers who enforce quiet times, helping to maintain a peaceful atmosphere, especially during evening hours.

  • Pet-Friendly Environment: Many RV parks, particularly those in recreational areas like Lake Camanche, are pet-friendly, though specific pet policies (e.g., leash rules, designated areas, fees) should always be confirmed directly with the park.

  • Camp Store Access (Likely): While not explicitly stated for Miners Camps, larger recreational areas like Lake Camanche typically feature a main marina store or general store where campers can purchase supplies, fishing bait, ice, and other necessities.

Features / Highlights

Miners Camps RV Park offers several key features that contribute to its appeal as a camping destination in California.

  • Lakeside Living: The primary highlight is its excellent proximity and easy access to Lake Camanche. This allows campers to fully immerse themselves in lakeside activities, whether it's fishing, quiet boating, or simply enjoying the water views.

  • Exceptional Fishing: Both the main lake and the adjacent pond offer "good fishing," making it an attractive spot for anglers of all skill levels, including families looking for an easy and rewarding fishing experience. Lake Camanche is known for its diverse fish population, including various bass species, trout, and catfish.

  • Tranquil No-Wake Zone: The location within or with easy access to a no-wake zone on Lake Camanche is a significant draw. This ensures a calm and safe environment for swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and fishing from smaller boats, free from the disturbance of high-speed motorized watercraft.

  • Family-Friendly Atmosphere: With its emphasis on quiet recreation, easy water access, and enforced quiet times, the park cultivates a welcoming environment for families, making it suitable for children and providing a safe space for outdoor play.

  • Amazing Sunsets: As noted by a customer, the sunsets over Lake Camanche from the park are "amazing," providing a spectacular natural show to end each day and offering fantastic photographic opportunities.

  • Spacious Sites (Generally): While some individual experiences may vary, the park is generally designed with ample spacing between RV sites, contributing to a sense of privacy and reducing the feeling of being overcrowded, which is often appreciated by RV campers.

It is important to manage expectations regarding site conditions, as one review highlighted issues with unlevel sites, uphill sewer hookups, and dusty conditions. Visitors should be prepared for typical outdoor elements, including dust, and consider bringing leveling blocks for their RVs.
