★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I stayed in spot #7 which was a good spot for a tent. There was a nice shaded area next to the stream but the roots poked out too much to make it good for a tent so I ended up putting my tent in the grassy part by the trees behind the picnic table. But, the area by the stream proved perfect for a hammock. None of the spots were secluded except maybe #3. But, they all seemed to have good views of the stream and the rock wall on the other side of the campground road. Pit toilets / restrooms were very clean and hand sanitizer and toilet paper was always stocked. The campground was very quiet and peaceful at night. The stars were also quite nice. During the day most of the spots seemed to stay pretty shaded but the sun does hit you pretty well in some areas throughout the day. This campground seems to be the prettiest compared the some of the other ones I drove through. I would recommend this one for sure. There is a place to get water as well.
June 30 · Christina EvansVery nice campground! We came on September 16th, the last day of the season but the sites were still open. Bathrooms were also unlocked and nice to be able to use them! Some horse droppings near the site but the quietness, moon light and sound of the creek while sleeping were amazing!
September 18 · Valentina LagomarsinoWe stopped at Bighorn NF on our way to Grand Teton/Yellowstone from Badlands. This area and Middle Fork Campground were absolutely incredible! The campground was impeccably clean, well-run, and gorgeous. We stayed at site 6, which was spacious, shaded, and the babbling water added so much to the experience. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay another night!
July 16 · Katie O’DanielVery nice and well-kept. There is a creek that runs behind nearly every site. Very fun rocks to climb on. There's a hiking trail on the road that enters the campground. It's not a super long hike, but there is a lot of hill climbing. Fairly easy. Probably not for little kids. It has a very nice view of the mountains. Picture worthy view. If you stand at the very top, there's just enough service to get notifications and send a small text. That's with Verizon. I have no idea about other carriers. It is a very popular place. Book sites at least 6 months in advance.
July 23 · Dawson Fleagle (Dawson F.)Overall a GREAT experience!Camp site - We reserved our spot online and pictures didn’t do it justice! It was spacious enough for up to 4 vehicles and a total of 16 people. We only had two cars and tents and had plenty of space leftover for additional people. The site had two grills, a fire-pit with a grill attachment, and poles with hooks for lanterns or whatever you want to hang up. We were right next to a creek so it was pretty cold in the evening. There was a second site next to us but the layout for both sites had the picnic tables in the middle, so everyone’s tents were pretty far. Still spaced out though so you can barely hear any conversations from both campsites especially because of the creek.Noise level: The creek was LOUD, so you may want to bring ear plugs if that’s not your thing. Sounds from wildlife was very low.Amenities: There were single restrooms (total of 2) right next to our campsite since stayed at the first site off of the road. They were well maintained and clean despite it just being a single toilet with toilet paper available. There was hand sanitizer and a little glade air freshener in each restroom, I’m assuming from the camp host. There were also trash cans right next to the restroom.Trails: There is so much to explore! There was a mini trail right in front of our campsite and we got to see a great view from higher up. There are many trails to explore!
