As a New York State DEC campground, Meadowbrook Campground primarily operates on standard state-mandated fees. Generally, camping fees are set at a base rate per night, with an additional surcharge for out-of-state residents. While specific seasonal or promotional discounts beyond this are not typically advertised directly by the campground, it is always recommended for New York residents to check the official New York State Parks reservation system, ReserveAmerica, for the most current pricing and any potential updates regarding special offers.
Occasionally, state park systems may offer limited-time deals or specific discounts for certain groups, such as military personnel or first responders, but these are usually broader state initiatives rather than campground-specific promotions. However, the inherent "great value" and affordability of Meadowbrook Campground, as consistently highlighted by visitors, serves as its ongoing "special offer." Compared to private campgrounds in the highly popular Adirondack region, Meadowbrook offers a cost-effective way to enjoy prime access to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake without a premium price tag. For the best rates and availability, especially during peak summer months, New Yorkers are strongly encouraged to make reservations well in advance through the ReserveAmerica platform.

Meadowbrook Campground Reviews
No rooms just camping sites. Well maintained. Nice staff. Great value
Jun 03, 2025 · Stan WibbenmeyerThis is a small campground but it's a great one. The staff is so friendly, easy going and honestly just a delight to be around. The campground is very clean. Along with the bathroom and showers being excellent for camping. If you are looking for a cute and cozy campground right in the center of the city then come on by.
Aug 06, 2024 · Jenna WryeDirectly on a busy main road with a lot of traffic sounds constantly. The grounds themselves are fine but the 10pm quiet hour is not enforced and teenagers/children have been heard yelling and shouting at all hours of the night every night I’ve been here (3 nights). It’s obnoxious and rude for those of us just utilizing the grounds as a place nearby to activities we’re trying to do early in the am. Would not recommend this campground unless you’re ok with A LOT of noise from cars, trucks, and other campers.
Jun 28, 2024 · CThis is a good campground for travellers. This is not backcountry or quiet off the grid camping. It’s fairly noisy during the day and busy, but not in a bad way. First night I was worried about all the noise and by 10pm it was essentially silent. Traffic on the road dies down and the restaurant next door closes and the campground is very quiet. The facilities were always super clean and nice to use. The staff were friendly and approachable and the campsites were nice. Second night I had to move over along the fence by the lumber yard and there was some lights, but honestly they were not that bad. This is a perfect spot to camp for a few days and explore Lake Placid and surrounding area.
Sep 02, 2023 · J HauberThe campground itself is cute. They clean frequently. Staff is great. I saw online that the road was noises so I picked rhe plot furtherst away from the road. But it was still very loud. Not only that, it's next to a lumber yard and that is also very loud in the morning. You likely won't be sleeping in lol
