McClure Point Recreational Area- Lake McClure Reviews
Nice campground, clean bathrooms but I never found any real beach area. There is the lagoon but that'd about be it. Nice for boats or kayaks
Jun 09, 2025 · Yvonne WilliamsMemorial weekend camping.Beautiful spot. A couple of things could be better. The campsites are super close to each other. Not all spots have fire pits or water. Also not all bathrooms have showers. I stayed in A lot and had to drive to D lot to take a shower. The good thing is that the shower water was nice and warm and it wasn't quarter operated. It does get super cold and night so suit up! Quiet hours weren't in forced unfortunately and with the spaces being so closed to each other it was a bit hard to sleep. The camp site is 10 minutes away from the Splash and Dash. The little store that was there was perfect for some ice cream, candies and drinks. Campsite was dog friendly ❤️
May 28, 2024 · Nicole AlfaroThe camp quiet hours start at 11 pm. There are no noise restrictions.. On a busy weekend ( like the one i was on), you have to deal with music blasting loudly into the night.... do not stop here if you are looking for a good night's rest. Also, I asked to refund me so I could go elsewhere, but they "couldn't" because I used my card.. The sites are well sized, and all have a Pic-nic table. Some have a decent view.
Sep 22, 2024 · crystal stutzmanTent camped here for 2 nights in mid May. Overall had a nice experience, the lake is beautiful and there were very few other people around. However, only one site in McClure loop A had a fire pit/ring (I think they are replacing them but this was not mentioned to us on check in and was not listed on their website) this was a real bummer for us so we couldn’t have a fire. Also, at around 3am there were people rooting around in the recycling and garbage bins down the campsite loop (sketchy) with flash lights causing a lot of noise as you can hear everything from all the different campsites and lake. There were also various fish parts and fish heads at several campsites in our loop as though someone comes here on off season to prep their fish and leaves the carcasses. This seems to attract a lot of overnight wildlife which is probably not a good thing. Additionally the showers need a lot of attention, at least a new shower curtain at bare minimum and a lightbulb over the shower wouldve been nice so we didn’t have to shower in the dark….
May 21, 2024 · Abbie DavisA long way in from main roads ( 10+ miles) so not ideal for 1 night if you are in transit across California.Pitches good, great views and v good grills.Toilets & showers need a refurb but showers work well.No black water dump ( some pitches getting sewer connections) - dump is at McSwain site at entrance ( 8 miles away)
