Mammoth Cave Campground Reviews
A beautiful campground, however customer service is really bad. We had made an online reservation and arrived after hours. In the morning, while on a bike ride, I finally saw a ranger and got his attention. I was hoping we can officially check in so we wouldn’t be ticketed or anything. However ranger David, I believe his name was, seemed rather annoyed by me asking and said he would be by our site to register us on his rounds. However when he finally arrived at our site, he instead gave us a citation for our generator. 😐🤦♂️ There was no nice, “hi welcome to our campground” or a map or rule guide like every other campground, just a citation. He didn’t even check us in or if so, he didn’t even bother to ask to see our reservation or ID. He just didn’t seem to care at all and you could tell with his unfriendly attitude. He clearly is having a bad day or just hates his job.Would not recommend! I’ve been camping for years and I’ve never gotten a citation or seen such a grumpy ranger. We literally got there late that night, and he was the first worker we saw. Very poor customer service and hospitality.
Jul 01, 2025 · WayneCampground is large with many different campsites. We used a group camp site that had water and restrooms close with lighted pathways. Showers were available near the campground entrance. Need quarters for showers and the change machine was out of order. Campground is close to visitor center where the cave tours are conducted. Great Experience, Go See Your Parks.
Jun 24, 2025 · John SmithWe stayed at C-086. It was a nice spot for our set up. The service got 5 stars because the lady in the store was very sweet and helpful. Rooms received 3 stars because the site were so close to one another. The total over all experience was 3 at best. The campgrounds needs to enforce a no bark rule. Our neighbors little foo-foo dogs on campsite C-084 barked constantly; waking everyone up at 4:30am. They would arrive back to their site in the evening and leave their headlights on for hours; making us have to relocate our chairs so we weren't blinded. Very inconsiderate people. I specifically stated the campsite hoping they see this review. 6/27-29/ 2025
Jun 30, 2025 · Pamela HullingerReally nice campground! We enjoyed our stay, even with the rain. Bring your own quarters for the showers and laundry… and bring extra! The change machine was out of order the whole time we were here, and if a washer, dryer, or shower eats your quarters when the camp store isn’t open, you’re out of luck. The camp store isn’t open very late, so get there early for whatever you’ll need. That said, the common areas are very clean!
Jun 09, 2025 · AllisonWe went tent camping there this week and had the best time, the people that work there were very nice, the campsites, bathrooms and shower house were very clean. We loved our campsite and are already planning another camping trip there in the future we will definitely be telling our friends about our experience there!
