Jul 03, 2025 · Riki 606Just like the reviews say.Perfect place to be!!it couldn’t be a better spot for a quick escape from the city.Everything you need is nearby, but you still feel far away.Bring someone new to camping. you might just be the first to introduce them to the perfect getaway only 30 minutes from the city. Enjoy all.
May 06, 2025 · Jun ParkThis campsite is well run with serious employees at the gate. They also work hard maintaining the space. This is a get-what-you-pay-for thing, as the campground is outrageously priced at double the cost of similar campgrounds that offer you more space and free showers. However, you are on Malibu's doorstep and you have a good staff.Because it is so close to the city, you are likely to have those sounds alongside nature. In one night I heard a helicopter and two ambulances or cop cars. These definitely broke the atmosphere, as well as my nice sleep. You don't get general road noise.Restrooms and showers are well spaced throughout the campground. You have to go and get tokens for the showers, which is annoying, but it works. It would certainly be nicer if you could just pay there. The showers themselves are nice, and the restrooms are clean.Sites themselves are pretty level and come with the table and fire ring. We camped at a tent site. The size of your pad is smaller than many other locations. It is still plenty for 3-4 tents (up to 8 people), but not much room to spare.Given the location, be ready for wet conditions. Condensation will be a bear, so it's like having rain every day. You'll want to towel down all your gear in the morning, as well as make sure you rain fly is well staked and off the main tent. The area is quite beautiful, with excellent hiking and a short scenic drive to the beach. Dume point is well worth a visit, or you can find your way to a beach.Be warned that poison oak is everywhere, so educate and monitor younger kids if you camp here!
May 01, 2025 · Anthony HowardThis campground was wonderful. It had an amazing pool in the creek, but be forewarned. It's really cold. The campsites are all conveniently close to the restrooms, and they all have fire pits. There is lots of nature, such as toads, rabbits, and squirrels. I highly recommend this campground. 5/5.Campsite price: $47. A little bit steep, but worth it.
Mar 24, 2025 · Rain Zhang (Rain)GREAT PLACE TO BE!We go camping at least once a month. So I tend me be pretty strict on the quality of site. I mean "quality" as in how well it is controlled, not so much of pit toilet or not. Trust me, I'd rather go to a clean pit toilet than terribly kept "modern" toilet. This place was quite impressive. First of all, weather was so incredibly good. and got Site 59, which had an amazing amenity of "children can play under a HUGE tree. You don't see this quite often in camping sites that is designated just for you.I liked that firepit was high-raised so that I can cook while standing up. But because it is high-raised, it could be considered dangerous for little kids as they could accidentally touch the fire pit. But it is double-barrelled, so it is considered safe.Bathroom was clean and well kept. it's a HUGE plus for me.Also, there is a little creek along the way to the Rock Pool. maybe 0.5 mile away? If you have little kids and can't walk more than a mile or so, this place is a great place to have fun! Will definitely return again.
