Limekiln State Campground provides a range of services designed to make your camping experience comfortable and enjoyable, focusing on the essentials that facilitate a genuine outdoor adventure.

Showers are also typically available, providing a convenient way to freshen up after a day of outdoor activities.
Water Access: Campers have access to potable water throughout the campground, with spigots strategically located for easy refilling of water containers. This ensures that essential hydration needs are met during your stay.

They are readily available to answer questions, provide local tips, and offer reassurance, such as advice on local wildlife like black bears, ensuring campers feel safe and informed during their stay.

As a New York State Campground, Limekiln State Campground typically operates under the pricing and reservation policies set by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS Parks). Direct promotions or individual special offers at the campground level are uncommon. However, campers should be aware of state-wide initiatives or programs that might apply, such as:
New York State Camping Reservations: Reservations are usually made through the ReserveAmerica platform, which may occasionally have its own booking incentives or loyalty programs, though these are external to the campground itself.
Empire Pass: While not a direct campground discount, the New York State Parks Empire Pass offers unlimited day-use vehicle entry to most of New York's state parks and facilities. While it doesn't cover camping fees, it can reduce costs if you plan to visit other state park attractions during your camping trip.
Off-Peak Season Rates: Like many campgrounds, Limekiln State Campground may have varying rates depending on the season, with potentially lower prices during the shoulder or off-peak months compared to the busy summer season. It's always best to check the official NYS Parks camping website or ReserveAmerica for the most accurate and up-to-date pricing information.
For specific inquiries regarding any potential offers or booking details, the most reliable source is the official NYS Parks website for camping or by contacting the campground directly.

While acknowledging some areas for improvement like trail maintenance or bathroom updates, these minor points are often overshadowed by the enduring charm and natural beauty that have drawn generations of New Yorkers back for decades. Ultimately, Limekiln State Campground offers a traditional, unpretentious, and deeply satisfying camping experience. It’s a place where childhood memories are made, family traditions are upheld, and the grandeur of the Adirondacks is on full display. Limekiln State Campground Reviews
Truly a scenic and cozy campground. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. They answered all my questions and reassured about the black bear activity and gave us tips on how to avoid an encounter. This is a very clean, friendly and not overwhelmingly big campground settled in a really beautiful and scenic area. The only downside was that there is no cellphone reception unless you drive a little closer to the town that’s nearby but that’s also just something to expect with camping. We definitely will be visiting again!
Jun 17, 2025 · Trish L.I've been camping here with my family for 37 years. I grew up as a child camping in the ADK's. It is a nice large family campground. The bathrooms need updating, and many of the firepits they've upgraded are not lasting well. They are already falling apart after 5 years. The trails in the campground are terrible. They need to be made better. There are a lot of wet areas and brush. You might want to wear rain boots. The trail markers need to be more visible and consistent.
Aug 12, 2024 · Cheryl DuffyAbsolutely lovedddd camping here especially tenting it out! So beautiful so quiet and serene! Will definitely do it again and will forever recommend coming here. If I had to complain about one thing was, we did not see any bears and that was sad inside the campground have absolutely no service, but that is not a bad thing at all. Very, very pleased great staff 👍🏻
Sep 02, 2024 · Katilyn GuzewiczThis is a very nice, well maintained campground. The staff is great, and the lake is great for kayaking, although it can get busy on some days as motorboats are allowed. The nature trail is also very nice. Great campground, highly recommend!
Sep 12, 2024 · Robson FarmsBeautiful campground, our site was stunning right on the water, neighbors were quiet, could hear a pin drop at night but instead heard the loons wailing (amazing). My biggest fear is bears, had one walk right in between my neighbor and our site the first morning, and then a few nights later one was spotted a few sites down walking down the road. We keep a clean site but if the camper before you does not, you may have company as bears return to where they find food. Water was warm, garbage/recycling area was clean but a decent trek from our site. No complaints!
