So, let's get into the details and uncover what awaits you at this charming lakeside campground.
Liberty Hill Park is situated at 18500 FM 709, Dawson, TX 76639, USA. Its location provides a perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. While it feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life, it remains relatively easy to reach for residents of Central Texas and beyond. The park is positioned on the shores of Lake Limestone, a popular destination for fishing, boating, and other water sports. This lakeside setting is the core of its appeal, offering breathtaking views and a variety of water-based activities right at your doorstep. The park's entrance and parking areas are designed to be wheelchair accessible, including designated parking spots, ensuring that visitors with mobility challenges can navigate the facilities with greater ease. This focus on accessibility makes Liberty Hill Park a welcoming destination for a diverse range of visitors, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the park's offerings.
One thing to note is that, while the park is open for business, the experience of finding your way, especially for late arrivals, can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. Some visitors have mentioned that signs and site markers can be difficult to see at night. It's a good idea to arrive with plenty of daylight to spare, or to have a clear understanding of your site location before you get there. The park's cell service can also be limited, so planning ahead is key. However, for those who seek to truly unplug, this lack of connectivity can be seen as a feature, not a bug, allowing for a genuine escape from the demands of modern life.

Despite a few logistical challenges noted by some visitors, such as navigation for late-night arrivals and a need for better groundskeeping, the consensus is that this park holds immense potential and provides a solid foundation for a memorable camping trip. Its greatest assets are the large, well-spaced sites, the availability of full RV hookups (including 50-amp service), and its prime location on Lake Limestone. The park's focus on family-friendly amenities, including a playground and a swim beach, makes it an excellent choice for those with children. The fact that it is pet-friendly also broadens its appeal to a wider audience.
While some aspects, like the need for more consistent mowing and clearer signage, could use improvement, the core offerings are strong and reliable. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We arrived after dark, which this time of year is 5:30PM. They won't even let you in before 3PM. No one at the wide open security gate to help us. I had no idea where to go. No signs anywhere and the site numbers are impossible to see at night. With nonexistent cell service, we had no choice but to wander around. When we did find our site, it had tight turns, low hanging trees, narrow with washed out edges and very unlevel. There was trash everywhere. It was a pull-through but we had to actually back into it.On the plus side, the sites are well spaced and had 50amp service. With some better management and upgrades this could be a nice park. Right now this is the worst COE we have ever stayed at.
December 30 · Tim EnrightNice big park. Swim beach play ground fishing boating relaxing! Great for bike riding! RV sites are large with 50 amp and water. Easy dump stations (2) and hosts that do man the booth! Only downfall is a lack of mowing! Park really needs to be mowed.
August 27 · Pamela DillardGreat COE. EXCEPT the restroom facilities. They are disgusting and need to be torn down and new ones built. The rest of the park is beautiful! Big, but narrow sites for camping. Our 40 ft. class A motorhome fit in our site.
April 05 · Tamara FoxAfter exploring a few lakes in the area my family and I have come to the conclusion that Liberty Hill Park is our goto.It is in close proximity to our home, have a playground, boat ramp, camp sights for both tent and trailer camping, and a beach. We have chosen to pay the $40 year access to the park.If you are looking to escape the city, have a quick swim, or drive on your warer craft I would highly recommend trying out Liberty Hill Park. The only issues I have with this location would be that the employees at the entrance gate are not very friendly, and in the mens bathroom closest to the beach had multiple mice running around last time we went.
July 24 · Maria Villalobos Waco TX RealtorVery nice park, spread out, and sites are also spread out.
