Leo's Key West Campground Introduce
Leo's Key West Campground, located at 5264 Suncrest Rd, Key West, FL 33040, USA, is often described by those who've discovered it as a "hidden gem" for RV travelers heading to the southernmost point of Florida. This family-owned campground prides itself on being the closest RV park to Key West, offering an incredibly convenient and often more reasonably priced option compared to other accommodations in the area. Leo's specializes in RV camping, providing full hookup sites designed for self-contained vehicles, ensuring a comfortable and well-equipped stay for its guests. The park is consistently praised for its cleanliness and efficient setup, with staff who are described as exceptionally nice, knowledgeable, and professional. While some past guests have encountered specific site challenges or facility issues, the overall sentiment highlights the dedication of the team to provide a positive experience. The campground's layout is set up to accommodate various RV sizes, with many finding it easy to maneuver even larger motorhomes into spaces. Beyond the individual sites, Leo's offers a welcoming atmosphere, making it a popular choice for those looking to explore Key West and the stunning beauty of the Florida Keys without compromising on essential amenities. It’s a place where the practicality of a well-located RV park meets the charm of a family-run operation, inviting you to create lasting memories in this unique island paradise.
Leo's Key West Campground is strategically positioned at 5264 Suncrest Rd, Key West, FL 33040, USA, placing it on Stock Island, just one bridge away from Key West proper. This location is a significant advantage, as it makes Leo's the closest RV park to the vibrant heart of Key West. While not directly on the main island, its proximity means that downtown Key West, with its iconic Duval Street, Mallory Square, and the Southernmost Point Buoy, is just a short drive – typically around 15 minutes – or an easy bike ride away. This provides the perfect balance: close enough to enjoy all the action and attractions of Key West, but far enough to offer a slightly less crowded and potentially more tranquil setting than staying directly in the bustling tourist areas. The campground is situated directly off the Overseas Highway (US 1), making it very easy to access for those driving down the Keys. The staff often recommends parking at the entrance and walking to your site to plan your approach, as all sites are back-in gravel pads, which can sometimes be tight, especially for larger rigs. Your RV and one additional vehicle must fit within your assigned site, as additional parking is limited. Despite being in a somewhat industrial area on the front side, the park transitions to a more tranquil feel towards the back and water access. The convenience extends to local dining, with a Mexican restaurant, a Jamaican food truck, and a taco truck all within easy walking distance. For those looking to explore without their own vehicle, scooter rentals are also available nearby, enhancing the accessibility to Key West's myriad attractions. This blend of convenient location, easy access, and proximity to local conveniences makes Leo's an ideal base for your Florida Keys adventure.

Leo's Key West Campground Reviews
Leo‘s RV park is the best hidden Gem for parking in your RV in that area. The staff are exceptionally nice, very knowledgeable and extremely professional. The park is extremely clean and well set up. I’m in a 40 foot motorhome and it was easy to maneuver into a space the rates for that area are exceptionally reasonable. The view is great you have food within walking distance. There’s a Mexican restaurant, Jamaican food truck and a taco truck all with an easy walking distance. If you’re going to Key West in an RV I would highly recommend staying at Leo‘s
Apr 13, 2025 · Tom LandisUnfortunately they gave us the worst RV lot which had an electric pole in the middle of it that prevented us from opening the awning. Not the mention the grassy part of the lot was very small and not inviting. As a result we didn’t enjoy any outside time and were cooped up inside when it rained. Be aware of what lot you are getting in advance. 13B is to be avoided. There were no shower facilities and the laundry facilities melted two garments of clothing which I had to throw away.Overall the park was quite depressing. The website aesthetic is misleading. The only thing we enjoyed was proximity to nearby attractions and scooter rental spot. The owner was gracious when we complained but I would say the customer service was lack luster. We were relieved to depart. Will not return.
Jan 23, 2025 · YanikaInteresting place. Tight sites, but clean and well-kept. Many nice murals around campground.Best part was the squad of iguanas that stunned themselves every morning on the spit of land protruding into the pond.
May 06, 2025 · Duane RussellWe really like this campground. They don't have a pool which we never use anyway so that wasn't a factor. They don't have a bath house either, but with full hookups you don't really need one. They do have a laundry room which we didn't use. They have a beautiful pond and access to the water through Mangrove tunnels right from the campground. There's great kayaking. The site was really nice. We are going back next year. It was a simple four Mile bike ride from Key West.
Feb 12, 2025 · Dale BarrettWe had a terrific weekend stay at Leo’s. Booking was super easy and all online. The property was tidy, organized, well signed, level, and perfectly equipped. We arrived after dark but had no trouble finding our site. The campground was charming and clean. We would happily stay again.
