Las Vegas Bay Campground Introduce
For Nevadans seeking a tranquil and family-friendly escape from the urban energy of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Bay Campground offers a welcoming retreat. Located within the scenic expanse of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, this campground is a true oasis in the desert. It is well-regarded for its clean and well-kept sites, which provide a comfortable basecamp for exploration and relaxation. The atmosphere is notably more relaxed and family-oriented compared to some of the more bustling campgrounds in the area, making it an excellent choice for a peaceful getaway.
The campground provides a serene environment with a mix of lush vegetation that offers great shade, a valuable commodity in the desert sun. Visitors have noted the presence of trees and bushes at most sites, which not only provides relief from the heat but also adds a sense of privacy. The sound of coyotes and owls at night adds to the authentic wilderness experience, and the clear desert skies offer a spectacular view of the stars. With dedicated and friendly camp hosts and courteous rangers who ensure the rules are followed, the campground maintains a secure and pleasant environment for all guests. It's a place where you can relax, knowing that the grounds are well-managed and cared for.
Las Vegas Bay Campground is located just minutes from the western edge of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, with its address being Boulder City, NV 89005, USA. It is easily accessible from the Las Vegas metropolitan area, making it a convenient option for a weekend trip. The proximity to Henderson shopping and the Boulder Beach area provides the perfect balance of a secluded outdoor experience with the convenience of nearby amenities and attractions. The roads within the campground are paved and well-maintained, ensuring smooth travel for both RVs and cars.
The campground is committed to accessibility, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot, so all visitors can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. On-site parking is plentiful and free, though some sites may be a bit smaller, so it's wise to check the site details if you have a larger rig. While the lake's water levels have receded, making the shoreline a bit of a distance from the campsites, the beautiful views from the bluff and the easy access to other parts of Lake Mead National Recreation Area by car are a major plus.
Las Vegas Bay Campground offers a selection of services designed to provide a comfortable and self-sufficient camping experience for its visitors.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was a very nice family campground with water spigots & an electric plug in the restrooms (flushing toilets) which were pretty much clean & stocked except for no soap or paper towels. Many coyotes & owls were heard at night in the distance & the stars were awesome! Generators have running hours otherwise it would be horrible noise! America the Beautiful Access Pass gets you half off campsites & free entry into the Lake Mead area(talk to any BLM land office 😉). The rangers were very professional and courteous! Camp host Bob seems to have the campground efficient and well kept while being friendly & helpful. Trees & bushes are protected so the shade is great!!! I would have given 5 stars if the lake wasn't so far away due to the water being down so far in the lake now. Plenty of dumpsters so no need for littering 🙂 The fellow campers were very considerate & what they were not going to use was left behind for those who could use the stuff. (A brand new shower tent still in box came in handy with the portable shower head we brought in) No campground showers there! Very close to Henderson shopping & Boulder Beach by the water. The visitor center is a must see by Boulder Beach! Everything went smoothly with the considerate campers & the unruly ones were diligently handled by the rangers, federal land in national park systems! Think twice before breaking laws!!! This campground was more family oriented than Boulder Beach & more festive.
April 05 · Dd DdAn oasis in the desert. Clean bathrooms. No showers, but all sites had trees and lots of lovely flowers. I had an amazing view from my site and watched the sunrise over the desert and river below! 🌅
June 06 · Ultimate ElektraThis is a lovely campground with spectacular views of desert landscapes. Clean, easy to park, and the good value for the money. Restrooms are clean. Clean. We only stayed here one night on our way home but have made a note to come by again.
March 03 · Lorett Kinnicutt-RogersA solid choice if you're looking for an ordinary campground. While I liked that it was a little out of the way, it was still crowded with RV's mostly and some tents. Views are enjoyable, but not breathtaking.Recommended.
April 21 · David GThis is my favorite campground at Lake Mead. It has flush toilets, some shade, picnic tables, fire rings, grills, a dump station, trash dumpsters, and potable water. The views of the Las Vegas Wash are incredible. That water draws a variety of wildlife, including Roadrunners and coyotes.
