Lakeview campground view point Introduce
For Arizonans looking to escape the desert heat, few destinations are as popular and accessible as Flagstaff. Nestled in the Coconino National Forest, the area offers a cool climate, a stunning landscape, and a wealth of outdoor activities. Among the many camping options, Lakeview Campground View Point stands out as a convenient and amenity-rich choice. Located just a short distance from the city and near the beautiful Upper Lake Mary, this campground is a great option for those who want the experience of camping without venturing too far into the wilderness. It's a place that balances a natural setting with the comforts of a developed campground, making it a suitable choice for a variety of campers, from families to those attending local events.
The name "Lakeview" itself hints at the primary appeal of this spot: its proximity to the lake. While the views may be glimpsed through the trees, the easy access to the water for activities like fishing, boating, and kayaking is a significant draw. This makes it an ideal base for a weekend of water-based recreation. The campground’s setting is classic high-country Arizona, with tall ponderosa pines providing shade and a serene backdrop for your stay. For those coming from Phoenix or Tucson, this is a much-needed change of scenery and a refreshing break from the arid landscape.
It is important to manage expectations, as the campground's convenience comes with a trade-off. Its close proximity to a main road and a large metropolitan area means it is not as isolated or quiet as a more remote forest site. As noted in some reviews, you might encounter a diverse mix of campers and some noise from the highway. However, for many, the trade-off is well worth it. The ease of getting there, the well-maintained sites, and the helpfulness of the hosts provide a stress-free camping experience. For events like the Overland Expo West, where proximity to the venue is key, Lakeview Campground becomes an excellent and practical choice.
Ultimately, Lakeview Campground View Point offers a comfortable and accessible gateway to the outdoor beauty of the Flagstaff area. It's a place to enjoy a campfire, a picnic, and the fresh mountain air, all without having to commit to a long and difficult journey. It provides a solid foundation for a fun and relaxing trip to the pines.

The road leading to the campground is paved and well-maintained, ensuring a smooth journey for all types of vehicles, including large RVs.
Accessibility is a key feature of the campground. The presence of on-site parking at each campsite ensures that campers can easily and safely park their vehicles. The close proximity of the sites to each other, while a potential source of noise for some, also means that essential amenities like restrooms are always just a short walk away. The ease of access makes this campground particularly appealing for those who are new to camping, families with young children, or travelers passing through the area who need a reliable and convenient place to stay.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Well, camp itself is nice and clean, every spot has place for tents, fireplace and big table. Toilets are clean and have builtin light with movement senser, yet it's situated too close to town and that brings different kind of campers. During our stay many people acted very loud, but the very best was young couple in red Golf. Every time they had to use restrooms, they were going there by car, those 50, max 100 yards. Even at night. You can imagine how pleasant it can be for other campers to listen loud exhaust of fake sports car. Another disadvantage is that campground is very close to the main road. In overall I do not reccomand this place if you are looking for quiet and peaceful rest.
October 10 · Piotr SzychlińskiMy girlfriend and I stayed here for the Overland Expo West 2023. Its only 20 minutes away. It's a great campsite, you can see the lake through the trees, campground was clean, and the best part were the campground hosts; very nice people. Thanks again!
May 24 · Dane HI love Lake View Campground at Lake Mary. For many years my family and I would visit in the summer. The former host were great and always made us feel welcomed, and had the most amazing time. These new host though kind of ruin the vibe and killed the fun and energy.By constantly harassing even had the nerve to ask we we took another campers chair but didn't ask anyone else. We had two spaces across from each other and definitely weren't the only ones playing music. One camper had a whole surround sound setup in their tent and was closer to the host but never was approached like they did us. Don't like to make it a race thing but ones comment about boom boom music didn't sit right.
