★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Nice size campground but its so run down. Our rv site was littered with cigarette butts and other people's dog poo. The wooden railings are broken. They advertise 2 pools but only 1 is open. They other pool is closed, and looks like it hasn't been used in a long time judging by the shade of green. The garden area looks like it would be nice, if it was taken care of. Nothing was open except the laundry. Loved feeding the Goats! The train theme with rail cars and caboose cabins could really draw campers to the park but the long term sites full of years worth of junk are a real deterrent. The beach front area on the lake was beautiful. We had no idea it was located so close to Lake Oconee Parkway just 5 miles, with tons of restaurants and shopping. This could be a really nice RV Park/Resort with right management.
May 15 · Amber McCormickWe absolutely love it here! We’ve felt welcome by every employee since we first arrived. Everyone is so kind and helpful from management, to front office staff, to cleaning, grounds and maintenance employees. They’ve all become like family to us as we’ve stayed for multiple months now. Everyone works hard and truly cares about keeping the campground and all its facilities clean and well taken care of for every guest. Their activities they usually have are great to participate in if you travel with kiddos. As well as their reptile center and small parks. They ensure your sight is clean and prepared before you pull in. They assist you in pulling in your site. The staff deserve so much praise for their hard work and dedication and they’re always willing to lend a hand if you need help with anything! We are so grateful for this KOA and everyone who works here!
February 02 · Kaylissa FanninWas on the way home and picked this place because it looked close to highway on map. Though it is only a half mile from the highway as the crow files, it is over 5 miles down a winding road that actually crosses over I-20 TWICE. Got to the office a few minutes after 4pm and it was locked, all lights off, but the was a clerk inside who opened up and let me check in. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is the ONLY time I've ever appreciated having an escort to my site because the roads inside the park are treacherous. Definitely would not want to navigate my trailer in here at night or if it was rainy or icy. The whole park is built on a slope down to the lake. Roads can be steep and there are lots of twists and turns. The hill climbing out was so steep I had to drop into low gear. Our site was tiny. We barely got our 30ft trailer onto the site. We had to park the truck sort of sideways with the back wheels on the concrete deck. We didn't even get a picnic table. Have never had a site that didn't come with a picnic table. Smaller pool looks nice. The water level in large pool is 3ft below pumps, pool is green and dirty and has damage and looks permanently closed. Laundry has only 2 dryers for 5 washers so there is always a wait. The only bathrooms/showers are either next to laundry or all the way down at clubhouse. No trash cans and only 1 dumpster for whole park. At $29 with my discount this is the cheapest KOA we've been to. And sadly, the park is only worth about that. It looks like they are in the process of rebuilding some decks, and they've just run new power lines over to the old, abandoned tennis/pickle ball court. So maybe they are trying to fix the place up. I was going to give them 2 stars but when I discovered a laminated sign at the clubhouse announcing weekly cult meetings I opted for 1 star. Plus, the place is a little scary. There are extremists that live along the road leading here, as well as at least two extremists who live here. Will not be back. We camped at Lake Oconee / Greensboro KOA Holiday in a Fifth Wheel.
March 18 · chris mWe stayed for 2 1/2 weeks camp site on the water. It was great!! Has a deck and picnic table. My husband & I and 2 dogs had a great time. We was close to the laundry mat, camp ground great for walking and the dogs, they also have a dog park. All the staff very welcoming & friendly!!
March 20 · Val ArbogastI stayed for 3 nights. We arrived as a late check in. We got there around 10:15. There is a "late check in" room that stays open from 5:00pm to 11:00pm. In this room, the left the key to my cabin and registration form. You just fill out the form and drop it into the box. There is a number to call for an escort to your cabin. I called twice, but no one answered. The did leave me a map of the property so I was able to find the cabin on my own. No biggie. If you arrive after 11:00pm, you can "boondock" in the parking lot for $15 until the office opens at 9:00am.We got to our cabin and it was nice and clean. It included linens, towels, and everything you need in the kitchen to cook. There were portable heaters in the rooms. I don't think the A/C worked but it was cool outside so it stayed comfortable inside. We purchased wood for a campfire at the office. Our campsite was so quite and peaceful and had the most beautiful view of Lake Oconee. There was also a nice table and chairs outside for us to enjoy our dinner outside. There is the cutest little coffee shop in front of the property. It is in an old train car. The person working the shop was very nice and helpful. They have interesting menu options and add ins for your drink. The prices are competitive with other coffee shops. We were able to view the menu and order online. My daughter went to pick up our drinks. One of the KOA managers offered her a ride to the coffee shop on her golf cart. She even waited for her to give her a ride back.We were in an out at various times of the day and night. The property is dark, but I love that for the "camping" experience. the grounds seemed well kept. The roads are narrow, so it may be difficult to navigate for larger trucks, but it was fine for my mid-sized sedan. It was so quiet each night we were there. We didn't even see anyone outside after dark. In the mornings, you see people out early walking their dogs and saying "hi" to other neighbors. Everyone was so friendly. At the entrance to the property, on the opposite side of the coffee shop, there is a nature center. There a 3 goats, squirrels, bearded dragon, and a few other animals. The lady in the nature center was very nice and came out to chat with us and talk with us about the goats. We enjoyed walking to the beach area. We really couldn't enjoy it as it was chilly out and raining, but the sunsets were absolutely gorgeous!Upon check out, they ask for all linens to be put in a bag or pillow case and left by the door, cabin swept, dishes washed, and trash taken out. No biggie. There are 2 dumpsters on the property, located at the front. May be a bit of a walk, but we just put the trash on the back of my car and drove to the dumpsters on our way out.I have no complaints based on my experience. This is a campground, not a 5 star hotel, and based on other reviews I've read, I feel some people forget this. This was an amazing experience for me and my daughter and we will definitely be staying here again!!
