Kozy Kampground is located at 5134 It's It Rd, Celina, OH 45822, USA. This address places it within Mercer County, in the western part of Ohio. Celina is a prominent city in the region, best known as the county seat and for its close proximity to Grand Lake St. Marys, one of Ohio's largest inland lakes. This geographic positioning is a significant draw for campers, particularly those interested in water-based recreation.
The campground's location on "It's It Rd" indicates its placement on a local road, likely off a main thoroughfare. Celina itself is well-connected by state routes, including Ohio State Route 29, State Route 127, and State Route 703, which intersect within or near the city. These routes provide good accessibility from various parts of Ohio. For instance, SR 29 offers a direct link to major cities like Dayton (to the southeast), while SR 127 connects to areas north and south.
For Ohio locals, this means Kozy Kampground is relatively easy to reach from a wide range of cities and towns across the state. The drive to Celina typically involves well-maintained state and local roads, accommodating RVs and travel trailers. The proximity to Grand Lake St. Marys is a major advantage, as the lake is a popular destination for boating, fishing, swimming, and other water sports, making the campground an ideal base for these activities.
While the campground is on a local road, its connection to the broader road network ensures that residents and visitors have convenient access to the amenities available in Celina, such as grocery stores, gas stations, local restaurants, and other essential services. This balance of a quiet camping setting and access to urban conveniences is often highly valued by campers.
Based on the provided reviews and the general nature of an RV campground, Kozy Kampground likely offers a range of services aimed at accommodating both short-term visitors and permanent campers.
RV Sites: The campground provides designated sites for recreational vehicles, which typically include electrical hookups (common amperage options like 30 and 50 amp) and water connections. Sewer hookups are also commonly available at full-service sites.
Permanent Spots: As explicitly mentioned in a review, Kozy Kampground offers "permanent spot for our camper." This indicates that the park caters to long-term residents, providing a more stable and extended living solution for those who wish to keep their RVs on-site year-round or for extended seasons.
Restroom Facilities: Access to clean restrooms and showers is a fundamental amenity expected at any campground, providing essential conveniences for all campers.
Water Access: Potable water is available at sites or through communal spigots.
Waste Disposal: Designated areas for trash and recycling are typically provided for campers' use.
Reservations System: The presence of "email confirmation" and discussions about "vaccine records" implies a structured reservation system for booking sites.
Management and Rules Enforcement: The reviews highlight that "Management must have rules and you must respect that," indicating active management that enforces park regulations. This can include rules regarding pets (like vaccine records and dog licenses mentioned), quiet hours, and site maintenance.
It is crucial to note the significant concern raised in one review regarding the "no refunds" policy, even when reservations are canceled or denied by the park, and the mention of offering "rain checks" instead. This suggests a strict policy that prospective campers should be fully aware of before making a reservation. Directly confirming refund policies, cancellation terms, and all required documentation (especially for pets) is highly recommended.
Kozy Kampground, while being a local camping option in Celina, OH, presents a mix of features and highlights that would appeal to different types of campers, alongside some significant concerns raised by past visitors.
Proximity to Grand Lake St. Marys: This is a major highlight. The campground's location in Celina offers convenient access to Grand Lake St. Marys, a large and popular inland lake in Ohio. This provides extensive opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and other water-based recreational activities, which is a significant draw for many Ohio campers.
Permanent Camper Spots: For those seeking a more stable and long-term base for their RV, the availability of permanent spots is a considerable advantage. This allows residents to set up their camper for extended periods, fostering a sense of community for long-term residents, as highlighted by one positive review.
Community for Long-Term Residents: The positive review from "Marlene and John" emphasizes a strong sense of satisfaction and kindness experienced by permanent residents, suggesting a friendly and welcoming environment for those who stay long-term.
Management with Clear Rules: The presence of management that enforces rules can contribute to an orderly and well-maintained campground, which many campers appreciate for ensuring a respectful environment.
However, it is critical to address the significant concerns raised in other reviews, which are also a notable "highlight" in the sense of being a prominent feature of public perception:
Strict No-Refund Policy: The most prominent concern is the explicit "no refunds" policy, even when the park initiates the cancellation or denies entry. This can lead to financial loss for campers who are unable to stay.
Customer Service Issues: Reports of "awful management" and "poor customer service" indicate challenges in communication and resolution of issues for some visitors.
Last-Minute Cancellations/Denials: The experience of being denied entry "the day of our confirmed reservation" after prior confirmations points to potential operational or communication issues that can cause significant inconvenience and frustration.
Dog License and Vaccine Record Requirements: While intended for safety, the strict adherence and potential for last-minute issues regarding these documents can be a source of stress if not managed perfectly by both parties.
Prospective campers should weigh these diverse experiences carefully, as they represent a significant part of the campground's public profile.

Explicitly inquire about the no-refund policy and any exceptions or alternative resolutions for park-initiated cancellations.
Clarify all required documentation for pets well in advance and ensure all paperwork is precisely as requested.

For Ohioans considering a camping trip, Kozy Kampground in Celina offers a distinct option that, for some, proves to be a perfectly suitable and enjoyable experience, particularly for long-term campers. As locals, we often seek convenient getaways within our own state, and Kozy Kampground's proximity to Grand Lake St. Marys is a significant draw. This large inland lake is a beloved recreational hub for Ohioans, providing ample opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and other water sports. For those whose primary goal is to spend time on or by the lake, Kozy Kampground serves as a practical basecamp.
The availability of "permanent spots for our camper" is a key feature that makes this campground especially suitable for a segment of the local population. For many Ohioans, having a consistent, long-term site for their RV eliminates the hassle of frequent setup and breakdown, fostering a sense of community and stability. The positive review from "Marlene and John" underscores this, highlighting a comfortable and problem-free experience for permanent residents who value the consistent management and follow the rules. For these long-term campers, the campground can indeed feel like a second home, where they are treated with kindness and can enjoy their investment.
However, it is crucial for any Ohioan considering a stay, especially a short-term one, to be fully aware of the experiences reported by others. The strict "no refunds" policy and instances of last-minute cancellations or denials can create significant frustration and financial loss if not meticulously managed by the camper. This means that while the location and long-term options are appealing, prospective visitors must exercise diligence in understanding and adhering to all park rules and confirming every detail of their reservation.
In conclusion, Kozy Kampground can be suitable for local Ohioans who are either seeking a long-term, stable spot for their camper and are prepared to align with the park's rules and management style, or for those who have thoroughly vetted their short-term reservation, confirmed all documentation, and understood the strict refund policy. Its prime location near Grand Lake St. Marys remains a consistent advantage, offering access to beloved Ohio outdoor activities. For the right camper, who prioritizes the lake and is meticulous with their booking, Kozy Kampground offers a convenient gateway to local recreation.

Kozy Kampground Reviews
The management at Kozy Kampground is awful, and the customer service is poor at best. Be aware: they do not give refunds, even if you’ve sent all the required documents and followed their long list of rules. We received an email confirmation that our reservation was good to go. My husband even emailed to double-check that all vaccine records were fine, and was told, “Yes, please submit the dog license and you’re all set.”Then today — the day of our confirmed reservation — we got a call telling us we weren’t permitted to stay! No refund offered, just a “rain check.” Too bad — you couldn’t pay me to stay here. And instead of responding to every negative review on this thread with some excuse, why don’t you do the right thing and give refunds for the service you didn’t provide and the headache you’ve caused — clearly, to a lot of people.
Jul 03, 2025 · K CutlerWe have a permanent spot for our camper. We love it here. No problems at all. Don’t listen to negative reviews. People bring these problems on themselves. Management must have rules and you must respect that. They have always been kind to us. Marlene and John
Jul 23, 2024 · Marlene SchmitmeyerWith an amazing location for a small birthday party! We was rudely treated after having three large tents two families boys and girls kids. We was hoping to set up four tents in two lots. Understandable of the regulations. So we tried to compromise. Using a dock for a day for a boat and jet skis we rented two dock. Was taken over by other boaters and ended up pulling out our water crafts, asked for a refund, or instead add another area so we can have regulation tents in the area. After spending.110$ hold over the phone.200$ for 2 nights two sites50$ for another site when we arrive to one of the employees, in cash. “No proof of purchase besides my missing cash$50 for two docs- website said 10$ a dockThan after a lon drawn out argument we ended up paying again for the site just to keep our tents up!So after not being able to use our doc, buying plugs to change from a camper to a 110 for the tents and electric. That was our bad for not asking if a tent site was a 110.A “cheap” camping trip turned into a money pit. Never again will I camp here or point it out.Pool was low, could have been power washed. The porta pots close to our site was covered in spiders I said something but nothing was done.So we walked a distant with kids to the bathroom all weekend. Was nice to have a faucet on the water line. Not allowed a refund, no good communication.I allowed them to know we was having people come for a party. And leaving.Difficulty online, and over the phone booking was as well a hassle. Was booked wrong3 camp sites together beside his fathers.
Jul 30, 2024 · barbi bertschWe had absolutly nothing but a great experience. Ppl were all really friendly, there was events the whole wknd, pool andplayground were clean, front office was very easy to deal with, and the guy ( can't remember his name) that helped my husband was really nice.I personally appreciate having plenty of space per campsite and that it wasn't loud through the crack of dawn.
Sep 03, 2024 · Em CarpenterWe did extensive research before choosing our new second home location. You hear the good and the bad. Many bad reviews of Kozy are from 5+ years ago, before new management took over. A simple ride around the park will tell you so much more!!Campers are friendly, and willing to lend a hand when needed. The staff go above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly.Almost every weekend offers activities for both kids and adults. We have 2 children (ages 3 and 6), we feel safe letting them play and adventure. Our oldest rides their bike around our block with no issues. Campers truly look out for each other.Rules are in place to make sure Campers are safe. As well as keeping the campground clean, and family oriented. The pond is wonderful for some easy fishing, or the lake is just steps away.Everything can't be perfect, and we totally understand that. The only changes I would wish for is a bigger play area with swings, and more room for all of the kids to play. A second basketball area in the kids area so they can play without going to the front of the campground. The pool is our favorite amenity. Although it is clean, it could use some upgrading. A small splash pad area would be nice too for the younger kids. However, I am well aware that these things come with time and take money. The shelter house is amazing for events, and activities. We love when live music comes in. Restrooms at this location would be more than ideal. With all of this said, we have no complaints. Very pleased with our experience- and hope to remain for many , many years. In a few short months we have made friends that feel like family.
