Kona Hills Campground Reviews
My wife and I stayed at Kona Hills for the first time this past weekend, and will most certainly be back. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed by the beautiful setting. The sites were well thought-out, and many provided incredible amounts of privacy. As we enjoy low-impact van camping, the campground was PERFECT. The camp host, Sarah, stopped by our site and was extremely welcoming and friendly. She is clearly enthusiastic about what they have to offer, and shared with us plans for the future, which all sounded terrific. We appreciate the opportunity to have a "rustic" option so close to Marquette!
Jun 21, 2025 · Robert SouthThis place is awesome! It is well thought out and lays out great for camping. It’s a beautiful place to walk or hike and I hiked a half mile down to Lake Superior. I am trying to get back as soon as I can. I also met a couple of guys named Devin and Jeremy, who were really helpful and happened to be a couple of the owners. The camp host Sarah was awesome and extremely helpful. Thank you all and I’ll see you soon.
Jul 07, 2025 · Ian MacdonaldIf you enjoy rustic camping, stunning views, private yet inviting campsites, and fantastic hosts, look no further! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kona Hills, from exploring the campground and area to relaxing around the fire. We were in site 26, which is really close to a set of portable bathrooms and next to, but not overbearingly close to, where our friends were staying in site 25. I liked that most of the sites offer a lot of privacy with both the spacing and the trees; many campgrounds from my own experience tend to feel a little claustrophobic. The grates over the fire pit were an unexpected helpful touch for campfire cooking, and there is a water pump at the Welcome Area that is fun to use when snagging some drinking water. I really appreciate that the owners kept the development of the land to a minimum. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this place; looking forward to coming back soon and bringing more friends!
Jun 02, 2025 · Jessica CorkinKona Hills Campground is great! If you're looking for a clean, quiet, secluded rustic campground close to town and Lake Superior this is it! We liked how private the campsites are and that it is dog friendly. We will definitely be staying here again.
Jul 02, 2025 · Zachary LancasterStayed here for the soft launch and had a spectacular time! The hosts are incredible, and the campsites are the most spacious I’ve ever stayed at other than dispersed/backcountry camping. No bugs, no noise, just forest all around and views that extend to the horizon. If you love camping, you’ll love Kona Hills Campground!
