Therefore, it does not usually run traditional "promotions or special offers" in the same way a private commercial campground might.
Pricing for campsites is generally set by the DEC and can vary based on factors such as the type of site (tent, RV), the season (peak vs. off-peak), and the duration of the stay. While there aren't "discounts" in the commercial sense, the value comes from the well-maintained facilities and reliable services offered at state-regulated rates.
However, visitors should be aware of:
- Seasonal Rates: Rates might differ between the prime summer season and the shoulder seasons (spring/fall).
- Senior Pass / Empire Pass Benefits: New York State residents who hold certain passes, such as the Lifetime Liberty Pass for veterans with disabilities, or the Golden Park Pass for seniors, may be eligible for reduced camping fees at state campgrounds, though specific details should be confirmed with the DEC.
- Reservation System: Booking in advance, especially for popular weekends, is highly recommended. While not a "promotion," securing your spot prevents disappointment.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on camping rates, reservation policies, and any potential eligibility for state-offered discounts or passes, prospective campers from New York are strongly advised to visit the official New York State Parks and DEC campgrounds website or contact Kenneth L. Staff was very friendly. Camp is clean and organized well.Camp sites are close together. You will see your neighbors.Bathroom was clean.
May 20, 2025 · Matt MaialeReally peaceful. I thought the lack of cell reception would be a real burden, but it was nice for a night I do wish there was ONE spot on grounds that had it though because I had to drive up road 5 min to get reception enough to change my reservation.Camp staff members were incredibly involved, even going from one campsite to the other and interacting, sitting and watching cars entering, and checking in with campers. I appreciated all of this! It made me feel so safe! There a large dog park-and signs reminding dog parents that dogs must be leashed at all times anywhere else-but none of the dogs I saw were leashed. I do wish people would obey the sign.I love walking and roaming, but a dog being friendly dislocated my hip last year, so I have to stay away (I have a medical condition that makes me fragile), and I get scared when dogs are off leash. At the showers, there was an off-leash husky just sitting out front. I simply didn’t shower, but that’s not fair to me. Leash your dogs in public places (and a campground is a public place).Other than that, I found the camp to be perfectly peaceful. Best night if sleep I’ve had in months!
May 30, 2024 · Kristy JohnsonJust got back from my first time, and it won't be my last. Very nice campground, well maintained, and has all the amenities. You can't beat the area it's in and what's close by. You can see your neighbors but that was not an issue for us. Each site had ample space and was perfect for tent camping. Onsite trails, pond, dog park, playground, etc. really awesome.
Jun 02, 2025 · Jason PoliThe camp sites had a nice distance between them. The bathrooms were…ok and the showers were really far away so you’d have to drive. Generally everything felt really far away and required driving - showers, water front, dog park. I suppose that could be a plus for some people. It was also verrrrry loud at night. The campground staff did not enforce the quiet hours at all. Two separate groups set off their car alarms multiple times through the night, an air horn went off, and both groups were incredibly loud well for hours past quiet time. I wouldn’t say this place is family friendly.
Jun 06, 2025 · Abby Lee-ZampiGreat spot for tent camping. They have a fire pit and picnic table at each site. Friendly and helpful staff. They also have bathrooms and showers available. The water in the shower was more hot than I expected which was really nice. It’s a great location near some nice hikes in the Catskills. There’s also some trails in the park that are fun to explore.Best of all: no cell service! A true vacation and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to unplug and relax.
