Accessibility is a key convenience at Kelly's Pond. The campground offers on-site parking, which is a major benefit for all campers, whether they are in a tent or an RV. This feature ensures a smooth arrival, allowing you to quickly set up your camp without the hassle of carrying gear a long distance. The on-site parking area is also utilized by those with RVs, and it provides a wide area for them to set up camp, as the designated tent sites are walk-in only. This dual-use area demonstrates the flexibility and accessibility of the campground. While some of the official tent sites are a short walk from the parking area, this design helps to maintain a quieter, more natural atmosphere for those sites.
Kelly's Pond Motorized Campground offers a set of basic, yet essential, services designed to provide a comfortable camping experience for both tent and RV campers. The amenities are primitive, focusing on the core necessities for an outdoor adventure.
Running Water and Public Restrooms: The campground provides running water and public restrooms, which are crucial amenities for any camping trip. The restrooms, though basic, are a welcome convenience. One reviewer did note a temporary shortage of toilet paper, which is a good reminder for campers to always come prepared with their own supplies.
Tent Sites: The official campground area is designated for tent campers, with eight official campsites that include fire rings, lantern posts, and picnic tables. These sites require a short walk from the parking area, providing a more secluded feel.
RV Camping: While the official campsites are for tents, the adjacent parking area is spacious and can accommodate RVs. This makes the campground a suitable destination for a variety of campers, from those in full-sized RVs to those who prefer more primitive tent camping.
Picnic Tables: Each of the eight designated campsites is equipped with a picnic table, providing a convenient place for campers to eat meals and gather. The presence of these tables enhances the overall usability and comfort of the sites.
On-Site Parking: The on-site parking is a critical service, providing secure and easy access for all types of vehicles and campers. It is a major benefit that streamlines the camping process.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Absolutely love this place. Just want here for the first time and it was awesome. Beautiful area. Have to get over the tonsof dirt bikes every morning, but they're good people.I've been going there for a year now and i still love it. Pro tip, if you're concerned about the motor nises, look to see if the trails are closed. I've been a few times when the trails are closed, the campground is open though....you'll pretty much have the place to yourself.
July 01 · Kevin KellyRelaxing, quiet and peaceful. Plenty of separate locations along the road without being on top of each other. I did bring a quarter roll of toilet paper, they were down to the last few squares by early Saturday morning. Next time I will pack some raid for the lavatory.
September 29 · Kat AmundsenStayed here for a few days. Can’t complain too much for free camping but a water spigot and trash can would help out a lot! Tried to hike the trails with my girlfriend but the dirt bikes have beat them to hell so we ended up walking along the forest road. Peaceful at night.
February 06 · Chris SchwabGreat place for primitive camping a OTV use! Pond provides a nice backdrop for camping but little in the ways if fishing. On site bathroom but it's just a hole ik the ground so don't expect much. Wildlife is every where. Will be back!
December 10 · Jerod ChamblissCamped out from Thursday the 28th till Saturday afternoon with no issues. This place is for Hiking and trail riding. 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, mini bikes. I think it’s 50” wide limit on most of these trails and they are two way trails so stay alert! And there are no showers/running water, just a toilet hole in the ground in the outhouse. My lil Pit-bikes did okay on some of the less intense trails. Lots of the main trails are still closed for maintenance after this past January storm, but still enough space to get it out of your system. You’ll want to have your OHV sticker in case warden comes checkin, but didn’t see em the time I was there. Got em online at Texas Parks and Wildlife.. 16 bucks each. Quiet Time from 10pm-6am other campers were very respectful, no loud music all weekend or revving up at night! Will be back before summer for sure!
