3.0
My kids would have rated it lower but there are a few pros to this place. If I wasn't with 4 kids that are used to camp grounds with more amenities it probably would have been fine. We were in a tent not that close to a bathroom but with family that had a camper so we used their bathroom most of the time.PROS- it's quite- Sites are big. We have a 12 person tent and it's huge. We still had space for our car and to play games- basketball court and volley ball court- small store with camp basics but no extrasCONS- the "swimming area" is kind of a joke. The pond is better for fishing than anything else. We didn't rent a canoe but probably would have if the weather was nicer while we were there.- there are only 2 parking spots at the "beach" and when your site isn't close it can be a hike. And uphill.- the playground could some some updating. Its just swings, a sand pit and a climbing thing. Maybe cool for a toddler but not really for older kids.- the basketball hoop could be replaced. It can still be used but it's falling apart.Again, my kids have been spoiled with snack shakes, ice cream, arcades and nice ponds so this was not ideal for kids that are used to that. And it didn't help that it rained a lot when we were here so it made not having those to other amenities more obvious. But if you like the rustic camping and just want a tent in the woods, then you will be fine here! - Jennifer Manning

It’s a place where the sounds of the woods replace the clamor of arcades, and vast, private campsites invite genuine relaxation. This overview will delve into what makes Indianhead Resort a unique and appealing destination for Massachusetts locals, highlighting its key features, location advantages, and why it might be the perfect fit for your next camping adventure. Whether you're a seasoned tent camper or prefer the comforts of an RV with full hookups, Indianhead Resort is designed to offer a tranquil escape, proving that sometimes, less truly is more when it comes to experiencing the great outdoors.

Indianhead Resort is conveniently located at 1929 State Rd, Plymouth, MA 02360, USA. This address places it within the historic and picturesque town of Plymouth, a well-known destination in southeastern Massachusetts. The resort's location provides a fantastic balance: it's accessible enough for a comfortable drive from many parts of the state, yet it feels secluded enough to offer that desired escape into nature.

For Massachusetts residents, accessing Indianhead Resort is straightforward. Plymouth is a hub in the South Shore region, with clear road networks leading directly to the campground. This ease of access means less time spent on the road and more time enjoying your vacation. Its proximity to various local attractions in Plymouth and the wider Cape Cod area also adds to its appeal, offering options for day trips if you wish to explore beyond the campground. However, once you arrive, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a peaceful, wooded environment that feels worlds away from the daily hustle. The location is particularly advantageous for those seeking a quiet retreat without venturing too far from home. This blend of accessibility and natural seclusion makes Indianhead Resort a practical and appealing choice for local campers seeking a true outdoor getaway within Massachusetts.

  • Quiet and Peaceful Environment: A key service is providing a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for those seeking a quiet escape from noise and crowds.
  • Basic Camp Store: There's a "small store with camp basics," ensuring campers can pick up essential supplies without needing to leave the resort.
  • Recreational Courts: The resort includes a basketball court and a volleyball court, offering opportunities for active recreation.
  • Pond Access for Fishing and Canoeing: While the "swimming area" might be modest, the pond is noted as "better for fishing," and canoe rentals are mentioned as an option, suggesting opportunities for water-based activities.
  • Friendly and Helpful Staff: Customers consistently praise the staff for being "friendly and helpful," contributing positively to the overall experience.

It's important to note that while these services are provided, the emphasis is on a more rustic experience rather than extensive modern amenities.

  • Tranquil Atmosphere: The campground is consistently described as "quite" and "peaceful," making it ideal for those seeking relaxation away from noisy crowds and distractions.
  • Rustic Charm: For campers who appreciate a more traditional, "rustic camping" experience and "just want a tent in the woods," Indianhead Resort perfectly fits the bill. It's not overly developed, preserving a natural feel.
  • Recreational Facilities: Despite its rustic nature, the resort offers practical amenities like a basketball court and a volleyball court for guest use, providing opportunities for active fun.
  • Fishing Pond: The pond is highlighted as being "better for fishing," offering a serene spot for anglers to cast a line and enjoy the tranquility.
  • Friendly and Accommodating Staff: The "friendly and helpful" staff consistently receive positive mentions, contributing significantly to a welcoming and pleasant stay for visitors.
  • Hidden Gem Status: Many visitors view it as a "secret spot," a "paradise" that they almost don't want others to discover, which speaks volumes about its unique appeal and undisturbed nature.

Based on the provided customer reviews and the overall character of Indianhead Resort, there aren't specific, publicly advertised "promotions or special offers" in the traditional sense (e.g., discounted rates for specific periods). However, the very nature of Indianhead Resort's appeal can be seen as a consistent "offer" to its target audience:

The "promotion" here is the consistent delivery of a highly valued experience:

  • Unmatched Quiet and Privacy: The promise of "huge, private, peaceful and beautiful" sites is a continuous draw, offering a premium experience for those who prioritize tranquility over bustling amenities.
  • Authentic Rustic Camping: For those who "like the rustic camping and just want a tent in the woods," the resort continuously offers this specific, authentic experience, which is increasingly hard to find in more commercialized campgrounds.
  • Value for Serenity: While amenities may be limited compared to some larger resorts, the value lies in the expansive sites and the peaceful environment provided. This caters to a specific demographic of campers who find immense value in these less tangible but highly desirable qualities.

Potential visitors, especially Massachusetts locals, should consider reaching out directly to Indianhead Resort to inquire about any unadvertised specials, off-season rates, or group discounts that might be available. As a more niche campground, direct communication might reveal options not broadly promoted online.
