May 23, 2025 · Kristin KoskiNot open for winter camping . All over the Internet it says this campground is open year-round. It is December I’ve called and left a message. As not to waste time because so many of our state and federal properties say they’re open year around and when you get there, they are closed. My guess is they have college graduates putting their websites together. State and federal websites are the worst informative things I’ve ever been on they tell you all about the things you don’t really care about . After a lengthy searching and then driving past the following day I see they are not open year around. Year around must mean something different to me than it does to state and federal campgrounds and their employees .after seeing this Campground it is definitely probably one of the worst campgrounds. I think I’ve ever seen. It is more like a parking lot in between the railroad tracks and the river with the zero privacy . Notice many of the camp spots are right on the railroad track, I actually measured from the railroad track to the campsites. The engineer of the train must laugh every time he rides by . The fire pits are 22 walking steps from the train track. You would have more peace camping in the baboon exhibit at the zoo then you would at this place.. take heed. Dec 30, 2024 · nathan goodfellowPrimitive camping experience. It was my first time camping and I liked it. I like that it was grassy, comes with a table/site and how you can hear and feel the breeze of Mississippi river. I didn’t have to bring an airbed since it was comfy enough for me. There’s not much to do other than fish and go for a bike ride. There are nearby stores to get some gas and food and the they have a lot of bathrooms-$5/key and you rent it out or own it. It’s nice to just sit there and do nothing. I wish were allowed to have more than 1 tent/site since they were huge.
