Hyde Memorial State Park RV Campground is conveniently located at 740 Hyde Park Road, Santa Fe, NM 87501, USA. Its address places it approximately 8 miles northeast of downtown Santa Fe, nestled comfortably within the scenic Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This proximity to a major city like Santa Fe is a significant advantage for New Mexico residents, making it incredibly easy to access for a quick day trip or an extended camping adventure.
The campground is situated right off NM 475, also known as Hyde Park Road, which leads directly to Ski Santa Fe. This easy access is often highlighted by visitors as a major benefit, though it does mean there might be some light traffic noise during peak times, particularly on weekends or during ski season. However, the trade-off is unparalleled convenience for reaching trails, the ski area, and the city of Santa Fe itself for any forgotten supplies or a meal out. The roads within the park might have a slight steep grade, which is typical for a mountain campground, so it's always wise to check your vehicle's brakes, especially when navigating larger RVs.
The elevation of the park ranges from 8,300 to 9,400 feet, providing a welcome escape from warmer temperatures in lower elevations. For those from Albuquerque, the immediate temperature drop is often a pleasant surprise. This elevated location also offers stunning views and a distinctly refreshing mountain climate. Overall, Hyde Memorial State Park RV Campground boasts an enviable location that perfectly balances serene wilderness with effortless accessibility to urban conveniences and popular recreational spots, making it a top choice for New Mexico locals.

Hyde Memorial State Park RV Campground Reviews
What an escape from the city and only a few miles away. We came up from Albuquerque and it was immediately at least 10 degrees cooler. We had a nice aspen and pine covered spot. This site is so easy to get to that that's the only bad thing. It's right next to the road that takes you to many trailhead and Ski Santa Fe.
Jun 02, 2025 · Bob FrohmaderFantastic campground. Located right off the main road, easy access but does have some light traffic noise. Roads are slight steep grade, so check your brakes.Has electric and water, but water was off due to winter ice.Special Thanks to Camp Host Ron, March 2022, for being extra helpful, informative and an overall great camp host to everyone. Our stay was amazing.Only short 15 minutes to restaurants, shopping, fuel, entertainment, etc.New Mexico State Park Annual Camping Pass is definitely worth it.Highly recommend this campground.
Apr 12, 2022 · RGRAPPLER InOCThis campground is set along a mountain road that leads up to the Santa Fe ski area. We were in one of the RV sites that’s right along the mountain road. Upon arrival to the park it was hard to find a Ranger to help us with check-in. I finally found one got my site and filled up with water down at the ranger station. It’s a little bit loud on the mountain. Due to our early arrival in May there was no camp post and no one at the welcome center. There are a few hikes to do in the park but not many. It is a beautiful setting. There was a cell phone hotspot in the Camp area, but it did not work. The dump station also is positioned on the wrong side for most traditional campers. It made it difficult to have to pull the hose under the camper to dump at the end of the camping trip. The best thing about the park was its location to Santa Fe.
May 10, 2023 · Sandra EllisAll the rv sites were reserved but most of them were either out of order or empty. There is no internet or cell phone connection but the only way to reserve a site is online.
Apr 04, 2025 · Dennis SiepierskiJust stayed at this campground for 5 days over Easter. What a great spot! Even though it is on the road it is quiet, as most cars are driving slow and only daylight hours. Spots are spacious, level and can accommodate out 40 ft RV. Not one single speck of trash anywhere and the toilet is clean!! The best part of the campground is the amazing host Ron. From the second we pulled in he was welcoming us with a huge smile, maps, information on hiking trails and anything else we needed. He checked in with us every day and we felt so cared for. He genuinely wanted us to feel like this park was home for us! I have stayed at many state parks and have never been more welcomed or seen a host who loves his job and takes so much pride in insure all guests have a memorable stay. They need to clone this guy for every park!
