I almost hesitate to write a review because I'd like to keep this place to myself! This campground is by far our favorite. The sites are a good distance from each other, there is a shower and flush toilets, and we've always had wonderful campground hosts. There is a nice creek that runs through the campground with campsites on the creek. A bonus is access to trails without leaving the campground, including part of the Appalachian Trail. We have been coming here over 10 years and always had a great experience. In addition to trails at the site there are many trails and interest points within short drives from the campsite. They do not sell fire wood.Quite atmosphere - Lisa Wright Burbach

Promotions or Special Offers

Hurricane Campground, being a public campground likely managed by the U.S. Forest Service (given its location and typical amenities), generally operates on a set fee schedule rather than offering frequent commercial promotions or special discounts. Pricing for campsites is typically standardized based on factors like hookup availability and site size.

However, visitors interested in potential savings or special opportunities should consider the following:

  • America the Beautiful Pass: Holders of an America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass (especially the Senior Pass or Access Pass) may be eligible for discounts on camping fees at federal campgrounds, including those managed by the Forest Service. It's always best to inquire about pass acceptance directly with the campground hosts upon arrival or when making reservations.

  • Off-Season Rates: Some campgrounds may offer slightly reduced rates during the off-peak seasons (e.g., late fall or early spring) when demand is lower. Checking the specific seasonal pricing is advisable.

  • Volunteer Opportunities: While not a direct promotion, participating as a volunteer campground host (like Janeda and her husband mentioned in reviews) can sometimes offer free camping in exchange for services. This is a longer-term commitment but a significant benefit for frequent campers.

For the most current and accurate information on pricing, reservation policies, and any potential programs, it is highly recommended to contact Hurricane Campground directly using the provided phone number or to check the official website of the U.S. Forest Service for the particular forest Hurricane Campground is situated within (likely George Washington and Jefferson National Forests).
