Hudson Hollow RV Park Introduce
For Floridians considering an RV park or rental property, it's essential to have comprehensive and factual information to make an informed decision. This overview focuses on Hudson Hollow RV Park, located in Hudson, FL. While the allure of a coastal location in Pasco County can be strong, it is paramount to be aware of the experiences shared by previous customers.
The goal of this article is to provide local users in Florida with clear, engaging, and informative details about Hudson Hollow RV Park, based strictly on publicly available data, particularly customer reviews. Transparency is key when evaluating accommodations, and understanding both the proposed offerings and any reported concerns is crucial for potential visitors. We aim to present a factual account to help you assess if this location aligns with your expectations for a safe and comfortable stay in the Sunshine State.
It is important to note that the provided customer reviews express significant negative feedback regarding the condition of the properties and the management's practices. This article will present these points directly, as they are a critical part of the publicly available information about this establishment. While we strive for a professional and informative tone, the factual nature of the content requires addressing these serious concerns.
Hudson Hollow RV Park is situated at 14026 Old Dixie Hwy, Hudson, FL 34667, USA. This location places it within Pasco County, on Florida's Gulf Coast. Hudson is known for its proximity to various coastal activities, including fishing, boating, and access to the Gulf of Mexico. The Old Dixie Highway itself is a historic route, and properties along it often benefit from accessibility to local amenities and thoroughfares.
For Floridians, the address in Hudson means it is reasonably accessible from larger population centers like Tampa and St. Petersburg. Travelers from these areas would typically use major highways such as US-19 or US-41 to reach Hudson, with Old Dixie Highway providing local access to the park itself. The general area offers a more laid-back, coastal community feel compared to the busier metropolitan areas of Florida.
However, it is crucial to balance geographical convenience with information regarding the property's condition. While the location itself might offer proximity to desirable Florida activities, the accessibility to the park should be considered in light of the severe concerns raised in customer reviews about the state of the facilities. For potential renters, understanding the on-site environment is as important as the external geographic accessibility.
Based on typical RV park offerings and the explicit customer feedback, the services provided at Hudson Hollow RV Park, particularly concerning its rental units, appear to be a significant point of contention. While RV parks generally offer sites with hookups and basic amenities, the reviews indicate a severe deficiency in the maintenance and safety of some of the properties, specifically the trailers intended for rent.
Services Offered (as implied by typical RV park operations, but with critical caveats from reviews):
- RV Sites: Traditionally, RV parks offer designated spaces for recreational vehicles, often including electrical, water, and sewer hookups. However, the reviews provided do not specify the condition or availability of these services for RVs, but rather highlight issues with rental trailers.
- Trailer Rentals: The provided reviews explicitly mention that trailers are rented out as "little cottage rentals." This suggests that the park offers ready-to-rent accommodation units.
Critical Concerns Regarding Services (directly from customer reviews):
- Mold Infestation: Customers report that the rental places are "full of mold." This indicates a severe health and safety hazard.
- Rotting Floors and Steps: Reviews mention "floors rotting" and "rotting steps," leading to concerns about structural integrity and potential injuries. One review specifically states, "don't care if you fall through the floor on get hurt on the rotting steps."
- Pest Infestation: Reports of "big rats" suggest significant pest control issues, which can impact hygiene and comfort.
- Substandard Repairs: Descriptions like "half ass fix things" indicate that maintenance attempts are inadequate or temporary, failing to address underlying problems.
- Post-Hurricane Condition: Following "hurricane helene," it's noted that trailers were "still trying to rent out the mold infested trailers," raising serious questions about post-disaster recovery and occupant safety.
- Code Violations: Accusations of "All kinds of code violations" point to potential non-compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Lack of Renter's Insurance: A critical concern highlighted is the park's alleged lack of renter's insurance, directly impacting guests in case of injury, as stated: "my wife got hurt here with a slip and fall and they don't have any insurance, enter at your own risk, don't do it." This is a significant financial risk for any potential guest.
Given the severe negative feedback, the "features" and "highlights" of Hudson Hollow RV Park must be viewed through the lens of customer safety and satisfaction. The provided reviews paint a grim picture, suggesting that fundamental aspects of habitability and safety are severely compromised. While an RV park typically aims to highlight amenities like recreational facilities, scenic views, or a friendly atmosphere, the overriding feedback here centers on critical deficiencies.
Reported Deficiencies / Critical Concerns (directly from customer reviews):
- Unsafe Living Conditions: The prevalence of mold, rotting floors, and pest infestations creates an inherently unsafe and unhealthy living environment for tenants or guests.
- Structural Integrity Issues: Mentions of "rotting floors" and "rotting steps" suggest severe structural problems that pose immediate physical hazards.
- Lack of Management Care: Multiple reviews convey a strong sentiment that "The owners care only about money and steeling from people" and "don't care if you fall through the floor or get hurt." This indicates a perceived disregard for tenant well-being.
- Financial Risk to Renters: The explicit warning about the park having "no renter's insurance" and a guest getting "hurt here with a slip and fall" highlights a critical financial and legal risk for anyone staying at the property. This means that if an injury occurs due to property negligence, guests may have no recourse for medical bills or other damages.
- Code Non-Compliance: Allegations of "All kinds of code violations" are a serious accusation, implying the property may not meet legal standards for safety and habitability.
- Post-Disaster Negligence: The alleged attempt to rent "mold infested trailers" after a hurricane demonstrates a potential failure to properly mitigate health risks following a natural disaster.
It is important for potential guests to prioritize their safety and well-being. When considering any "features" beyond these critical points, the severe nature of these reported issues would likely overshadow any typical amenities an RV park might offer. Prospective visitors should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before considering a stay at this location.

It is prudent to document any conversations and confirm any information in writing where possible.
Given the overwhelmingly negative and severe customer reviews provided, it is factually inaccurate and irresponsible to suggest that Hudson Hollow RV Park is "suitable for locals." The overwhelming sentiment from real customers indicates significant and pervasive issues with safety, property conditions, and management practices, making it unsuitable for anyone, including local Floridians, seeking a safe and comfortable place to stay.
Conclusion: Why this place is NOT suitable for locals (based on provided reviews):
- Extreme Safety Hazards: Reports of "rotting floors," "rotting steps," and "big rats" present immediate physical dangers and severe health risks to occupants. No individual should be exposed to such unsafe living conditions.
- Severe Health Risks: The explicit mention of "mold infested trailers" is a critical health concern, particularly in Florida's humid climate where mold can rapidly spread and cause respiratory issues and other ailments. Attempting to rent such units, especially after a hurricane, demonstrates a profound disregard for public health.
- Lack of Accountability and Insurance: The most alarming concern for locals is the alleged absence of renter's insurance. The direct experience of a slip and fall injury with no insurance coverage means that locals could face significant financial burdens for medical expenses if harmed on the property due to negligence. This is a crucial protective measure that appears to be missing.
- Management Disregard: Customer feedback clearly indicates a perception that "The owners care only about money and stealing from people" and show no concern for guests' well-being. This suggests a hostile or neglectful environment, which is not conducive to a positive rental or camping experience.
- Code Violations: Allegations of "All kinds of code violations" imply that the property may not meet basic legal standards for safety, sanitation, and habitability, which local residents should rightfully expect from any accommodation.
- Financial Exploitation Concerns: The collective tone of the reviews suggests that the management is primarily focused on collecting rent without providing habitable or safe conditions, leading to accusations of "stealing from people."
For these reasons, based directly on the provided customer feedback, Hudson Hollow RV Park does not meet the standards of a safe, reliable, or suitable accommodation option for Floridians or any other potential guests. Prospective renters and RVers are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and consider alternative options that prioritize guest safety, property maintenance, and transparent business practices. The risks highlighted in the reviews are too severe to recommend this location for any purpose.

The owners care only about money and steeling from people. The places are full of mold, floors rotting, and big rats. Half ass fix things and don't care if you fall through the floor on get hurt on the rotting steps. Flooded out during hurricane helene and still trying to rent out the mold infested trailers. All kinds of code violations. Slum loads wouldn't rent a place from them. Only care about money..
Nov 17, 2024 · Cindy LeslieDo not rent from theses people they have no renter's insurance my wife got hurt here with a slip and fall and they don't have any insurance, enter at your own risk, don't do it 😑
Jun 07, 2024 · Kenneth TilleryI lived here during my Senior year of High School a decade ago and It was awesome. Had no problems at least my parents didn't. I'm not sure how it is now but I'm really wanting a cheap place for Rent.
Oct 22, 2019 · Jessica TaylorMobiles in sub standard condition. Took them 5 days to unclog my kitchen sink. And forget about your deposit. No matter how clean you leave it they find a reason to keep it. And don't bother using your mailbox because someone goes thru them everyday and takes anything of value. Also they say they include utilities but you share 30 amps with your neighbor so if you both run ac it trips the circuit. All of my electrical appliances were destroyed by the bad flow and they were brand new when I moved in. My unit had a built in microwave but there wasn't enough power to make it do anything but turn the light on and it fried the wires in the wall but they refused to fix it. Don't do anything but look at the blinds because they are so old and fragile that if you try to open them, pieces break off. The house would reach 90 plus degrees even with ac on. They put in brand new tile in the kitchen but it peeled up because they didn't lay it properly. Water pressure won't even rinse conditioner out of your hair so just go to the salon and sponge bathe. Hope you like wharf rats cuz they have free access inside because they didn't remove the duct work from the old central units and everything outside sought refuge inside with me! And the worst part, almost all of my windows were screwed shut so I couldn't even let the heat out. 800 bucks a month for all this despite the fact they are advertising 700. Unlivable in my book.
May 20, 2019 · Kimberly PfeifferMy parents owned this park while I was in high school. Its so diffrent now. Ive had many childhood memories there. I managed it when my parents moved back to MassachusettesI rented out the doublewide which was the office and I stayed in the cute little cottage outfrontWe had a pool then lots of weekend and holiday bbqs and playing sports outfront when it was open field. John and Karen Mitchell are gone but never forgotten. Those are the golden years where everything was family oriented.
