Houlton / Canadian Border KOA Journey Reviews
This is a great little campground with very friendly staff, large camping lots, and great walking paths through beautiful woods. We stayed here when traveling across the border in both directions, as it is very close to the I95 and the border crossing. The new patio sites are really well done! One of our more enjoyable stays this year.
Oct 10, 2024 · Don StricklandI had a great time here. The sites are spacious and comfortable. And checking in was straightforward. Their camp store is well stocked with the essentials. And the staff and other campers were all very friendly! People would wave hello and say good morning as they walked by my site. They have wifi available too. Seemed very family-friendly.The only slight issue is I found the campsite numbers were not easy to read. I arrived at night, which definitely contributed. But I think they could benefit from bigger signs. Wasn't a huge deal though.
Aug 07, 2024 · Alex MacLellanThis is a super nice KOA. The owners are awesome. It’s one of the nicest KOAs I’ve ever been to.We got the premier spot with a patio and nice sized bbq grill. We showed up at the spot and had an empty propane bottle which was quickly remedied by a nice man who gave us his personal propane y tilt he office came by to replace it. That was so nice of him.The dog park is a nice size and our two dogs played there every day.One of the owners came by our spot to deliver the firewood we purchased and was playing with our dog. When in the area you must stay here. 5 stars all the way.
Jul 08, 2024 · Rich PetrelliThe owners were very kind and friendly and some of the property was nice. When we booked the reservation, it was known that we had a 36' Class A. We were book on a sloping site that was somewhat soft/muddy, which created a problem with the stabilizers and we were booked at a buddy site without any disclosure of the same. We avoided spending time at the KOA and used it as storage until we needed to move to our new temporary home at Moosehead Lake. We did receive lots of text messages about power outages, water outages, etc, among other issues. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.Following up: My husband and I happened to visit the KOA on a whim and well after we booked a reservation. We did not visit the site prior to booking. When we did visit the site, we went to the main office to disclose our concern of facing another RV (buddy site) and the slope. We were told that we could not relocate to another site because they were either booked or the deluxe sites were not for long term stays. We were stuck as we had no where else to go with the RV. Therefore, we did not know about the issues at the time of booking. It would have been nice to have full disclosure at the time of booking that we were being assigned to a buddy site. Unfortunately, the response from the KOA does not acknowledge the issues. The KOA simply justified their position.
Sep 18, 2024 · Melanie SolomanMy new favorite RV spot! Hospitable owners, clean laundry and restroom facilities, loads of free family friendly amenities. This was our first KOA and it set the bar high. Highly recommend!
