Horse Springs Campground is more than just a place to pitch a tent; it's a gateway to experiencing the unique geology and ecology of the Arizona high desert. The campground's setting in a canyon creates a distinct environment, where the sun rises later and sets earlier, lending an intimate and cozy feel to your stay. While this can make for shorter sunlit days, it also contributes to a sense of being truly surrounded by nature. The area is known for its proximity to stunning natural features and diverse wildlife, including the majestic longhorn sheep that have been spotted near the campground. The tranquility of the location, coupled with the sounds of nature, offers a truly rejuvenating experience.
The location of Horse Springs Campground provides both seclusion and convenience. Situated in Arizona, this remote-feeling destination is still accessible for most vehicles. Its location in a canyon means that while you are surrounded by natural beauty, you should be mindful of the unique micro-climate it creates. The campground is nestled near a river, which historically has acted as a natural barrier, protecting the area from past wildfires. For those unfamiliar with the area, the journey to the campground is part of the adventure, leading you deeper into the heart of Arizona's stunning wilderness.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Interesting.. in a canyon so shorter days. I experienced one of the closest thunderstorms in my tent ... Awesome. The only complaint is that I couldn't get away from smell of outhouse. After 2 nights I decided to move to other end of cg but the smell was bad there as well.. nature of a canyon I'm learning. There are quite a few campgrounds on this road and most sites are close to road. There was a fire a few years ago but it was stopped by river from coming into camp areas . I saw the long Horn sheep. They like to stay down by Diamond CG. WATER available at Horse Springs and maybe one other. There were large canisters filled by staff at some of other campgrounds.
September 19 · elizabeth lessardCampground and host were really nice. Despite the campsite being full, neighbors were far enough away that they didn't bother us. We were there over 4th of July weekend and there were a lot of people with off road vehicles that would come into the campsite, drive the wrong way on the one way road to use the bathroom and get water. The campsites each have a picnic table and fire ring. There were 2 bathrooms and drinking water from a faucet. If you want to get some peace and quiet I would recommend not going a holiday weekend.
July 10 · Kayleigh CollinsNice and peaceful place, very beautiful very green, can't wait to head back!!
July 08 · Adrian RodriguezWe had a really great time camping here. Campground was nice, clean, and peaceful. Can't wait to visit again.
October 08 · Jonathan NicholsLocation is great. Getting to other spots to fish is easy. The toilets are ok, the TP does not spin at all so you need to unravel it or bring your own TP to make it easier. BTW, please close the toilet lid when you're done.
