Holcomb Valley Ranch Reviews
My husband and I just spent the weekend here, and it was beautiful. The ranch is very well taken care of, there’s clean port-a-potties at all the camp sites. We rented a one acre plot and felt like we had the ranch to ourselves! It’s close to the lake and downtown. Would definitely come here again
Jun 15, 2025 · Ashley LintzThis was our first time here and we had a great time. The drive up is a little bumpy so I don’t think we would drive up and down it much. We stayed at site D6 and it was smaller than I expected. It was surrounded by bushes and slightly slanted which made it difficult to find a place for out tent. We have a four person tent, but a bigger tent would be harder to find space. We were right next to the bathroom and shower which was great since we have to small boys. The downside of that is you also hear everyone else who has to use the bathroom. My biggest complaint is that our neighbors in D7 came in at 10:30 at night and took an hour to unpack. Our boys were woken up by the sound of them hammering in their tent stakes and loud talking. I’m not sure if the camp host was aware of their late arrival but it was very rude and inconsiderate. Over all we had a great time my boys had a blast. I would definitely stay there again but a different site.
Aug 18, 2024 · Kim JerglerA great place to stay at in Big Bear. A lot of nearby off road trails and wild life such as horses. You will definitely see wild horses near by. It's a good place to get away from the city by chilling, grilling and relaxing. This place is able to accommodate big parties and events. Pro tip... Verizon is probably the best service cell signal over here but if you don't have Verizon.. you can get some decent reception near by the meadows. As always, don't trash the place and leave nature better than before.
Sep 10, 2024 · Kuo LiuThis was by far the best site i have stayed at! The property is 55 acres of beautiful trees and meadows. I went the first week in June and it was perfect 👌. My son and I were 1 of 3 people on this entire site and it was AMAZING!The site is private property so they recommend you call the owner prior to leaving the main road to let them know you are coming. I stayed on the boyscout side at campsite c3. The campsite backed up to a large open meadow that generally has horses in it. The owner said the horses would be there the following week. My son and I tent camped here and It was great. We were a little walk from the bathroom but not too far, they were well maintained. The boyscout side offered hot showers as well. When I explored the rest of the campsite, it looked like there were Porta Johns on the other side. Each site offered water and a fire pit.The sites are beautiful large open areas that are far enough away from other sites to allow you to feel secluded even when there are people next to you. It does require a high clearance vehicle to get to the site but it was worth it!You can hike around the property or enjoy just laying in a hammock listening to the breeze. The trail is close to big bear lake(20 minutes) and there are a lot of great offroad trails near by too. We explored the gold fever trail and it was cool to learn about some history along the way.Overall this is probably my favorite site in the big bear area. It was slightly more than the basic campsites but it was worth every penny. The owner was also great and told me I could leave whenever on our final day and didn't need to rush out. I loved how peaceful it was and the hot shower was a HUGE bonus. It was such an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back.
Aug 11, 2024 · Preston TreadwellThis location is incredible. The remoteness is what drew us here, the meadow views are outstanding and the host was great. This campground is being reborn/repurposed with new owners and has immense potential to be great as it ever was before with the right mindset. As an outdoorsman and shooting sports athlete, I would love to see the trap and archery ranges be brought back to life. Our visit put as as one of two occupants during that week so it was dead quiet and allowed us to enjoy the surroundings and views. Great trail driving in the surrounding terrain and (at least for our visit) with recent rains, there was lots of flowing waters in the surrounding hills and trails. Very nice to see for a normally arid region. We are already planning to return to enjoy the serenity again soon.
