Hitchcock Nature Center Campground Reviews
Great camping stop! Love the first come first serve. Has a fun trail for kids to run and get out their energy. Ranger on site is very nice and accommodating. Definitely will come back to stay again
Jun 13, 2025 · Theah HuntHitchcock Nature Center Campground is a great place to camp, and the Park Ranger was very helpful. Just a heads-up though: the restrooms don’t open until closer to May. Fortunately, the water spigots were turned on a day or two after we arrived (in mid-March), which made things easier. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and would go there again.
Apr 15, 2025 · Sally AnhaltBeautiful setting. FYI: tent only sites (which are lovely) are walk-in. You can’t park at your site, you park at the top of the hill. There is a vault bathroom by the parking lot, and flush toilets and showers available, but not really waking distance (would be a 10-15 min walk uphill). These were closed when we were hoping to use them. Tent only fee was only $10 and you submit your payment in an envelope. The hosts broke my change. Helpful hosts, though the park office wasn’t open the whole time we were there.
Jun 17, 2022 · Katie O'BeirneWe had planned to stay here as it said it included tent camping online. When we got there and looked to set up, all the tent sights were hike-in with no camping out of vehicle tent sights, which was not clear from the site. Also the second we pulled up, they had a loud and obnoxious sign indicating that they are anti-second amendment, which is not good, especially for people traveling cross country who have their permits. Do not stay or support this business. We didn't and found a better spot 30 miles north that was very accommodating and 2nd amendment friendly.
